"Yip—"
The reddish-brown Vulpix with a large, single white tail looked at them shyly.
"Wow..." Shana couldn't help but gasp. "So cute."
[Vulpix]
[Type: Fire]
[Gender: Female]
[Ability: Flash Fire]
[Known Moves: Tail Whip, Ember, Baby-Doll Eyes, Heat Wave.]
[Mood: Happy]
[Status: Confused, Lost, Shy]
[Friendship: 70 (You were the first one I saw)]
[Introduction: The child of a powerful Ninetales, inheriting a portion of its parents' strength.]
[I'm very strong —Vulpix]
Looking at the shy Vulpix hiding in its shell, Victor smiled, reached out to pick it up, and took the milk bottle from Gengar, holding it to its mouth.
The Vulpix quickly began to suckle.
Feeling the comfortable texture in his hands, Victor couldn't help but close his eyes in bliss.
Wonderful! I finally have my own fluffy Pokémon! Victor cried out tearfully in his heart.
He then checked its moveset. It was born with Baby-Doll Eyes and Heat Wave.
As expected of a Ninetales' offspring, inheriting two moves, one of which is a powerful Fire-type attack. So strong.
When the Vulpix finished its Moomoo Milk, Victor ruffled its fluffy fur and then introduced it to the other people and Pokémon of the Breeding House.
Finally, he announced, "Everyone, our Breeding House has another new little sister!"
"Yay!"
"Gengar—"
"Lili~"
"Machoke x3."
"Mime~"
"Ching~"
"Welcome to our big family, Vulpix," Victor said with a smile, slowly combing its fur with his fingers.
Feeling the sincere warmth from everyone around it, the Vulpix closed its eyes and let out a delicate cry.
"Yip~"
"Hello, everyone~"
This sparked another wave of cheerful cries.
Finally, at Gengar's urging, Victor looked at the camera that had been set up. Before he could even strike a pose, the camera snapped the group photo.
He reached up to rub his hair where Gengar had grabbed it too hard, then retaliated by giving its tail a tug, letting it float around like a deflating balloon for a bit. He then handed the Vulpix to Shana to hold, letting her play with it, her Chingling, the Petilil, and Mime Jr.
In the night sky, a Garchomp shot through the clouds.
Cynthia opened a message and saw a group photo. A Gengar was floating above a young man's head; it had probably been moving too fast to stop and had to grab his hair to brake, its tongue sticking out. The young man in the photo had a pained expression, and he was holding a Vulpix she had never seen before. Around them were Shana and the other Pokémon of the Breeding House.
Victor: The Breeding House has a new member.
He attached another picture of the Vulpix playing with Shana and the others.
Cynthia was on her Garchomp's back, on her way back to the League headquarters from the tournament venue.
A smile touched her lips, and her fingers began to tap on the screen.
Cynthia: A Vulpix? As a newborn Vulpix grows, the single tail on its back will slowly split and gain color, eventually forming six beautiful tails.
Victor: That's right. I'm already looking forward to seeing it grow up. Mime Jr. was just born not long ago, too.
Cynthia thought of the little Mime Jr. that always seemed to hand her a sparkling water or an ice cream at just the right moment.
Cynthia: They're both very cute.
Victor: I think so too. By the time you come back, you might be able to see an adorable Vulpix. Good luck, Lady Shirona.
After sending the message, Victor put his phone in his pocket, not wanting to disturb her any longer, and went to play with Shana and the others.
Looking at the message on her phone, Cynthia said softly, "Lady Shirona, is it? Hmph."
Then, her expression sharpened, becoming霸气 and cool.
"Garchomp, let's go on a rampage!"
"Grawr!"
Like a jet plane, it disappeared into the night sky.
Back at the Breeding House, Victor glanced at the time, peeled the paper strips from his face, and prepared to take Shana home.
In the card game they had been playing, Victor and Gengar were tied for the most penalty strips on their faces, followed by Mime Jr. and Shana. The Petilil and Vulpix had none.
Looking at Gengar's face, which was completely covered in paper, Victor burst out laughing, taunting it as he took a picture with his phone.
"Gengar?! (゚⊿゚)ツ"
No pictures!
After a bit more roughhousing, Victor and Gengar personally escorted Shana home. When he returned, Victor took a shower and then carried the Vulpix to bed. Tonight, he could finally sleep while cuddling something fluffy.
Victor happily picked up the Vulpix and buried his face in its creamy white belly, taking a deep breath.
"Yip~!"
Satisfied, Victor put the Vulpix down. It shyly burrowed under the covers.
"Gengar?! ¬_¬`" Gengar gave Victor a look of disgust.
"What?" Victor shot a triumphant, funny face back at Gengar, then slipped under the covers himself.
"Goodnight, everyone."
"Gengar—"
"Lili~"
"Mime~"
"Yip... yip..."
Seeing that Victor was asleep, Gengar floated down from the ceiling, changed the room's lighting to a warm tone without turning it off completely, saw that the Petilil in the flowerpot outside was sleeping soundly, and then covered the Mime Jr. who had kicked off its blanket on the small bed next to theirs, before floating back to the ceiling.
"Gengar—"
Goodnight. (whispering)
In the middle of the night, a group of unknown Pokémon flew towards the Breeding House, and a battle immediately broke out.
"Lili!"
The Petilil opened its eyes and saw several hazy figures under the moonlight in the distance.
A pair of crimson eyes lit up on the ceiling, and then phased through the wall to the Petilil's side, gently patting its head.
"Gengar—"
It then looked into the distance. Dali and the others were already on their way.
Woken by the commotion, Victor went out onto the balcony, comforted the Petilil, and brought it back inside. He closed the balcony door and instructed the Petilil to look after Mime Jr. and the Vulpix in the room, then ran downstairs towards the forest area.
Gengar floated behind him.
Arriving at the forest, he saw that Dali, Erli, and Sanli were helping the Vespiquen drive away a group of invading Pokémon.
The Vespiquen was fighting multiple opponents at once, constantly dodging attacks and then counterattacking.
The Machoke were attacking a few Teddiursa.
Looking at the group of Beautifly and Mothim, Victor gritted his teeth.
"You dare come back to steal my Sweet Honey? Gengar, go."
Hearing this, Gengar immediately grew in size and floated above all the Pokémon. Its eyes began to glow, and all the flying Pokémon instantly fell to the ground, flapping their wings but unable to take off.
"Gengar!"
You want to steal our Sweet Honey?! You actually want to steal our delicious Sweet Honey!!
Gengar's Shadow Clone created numerous copies, each one holding a Shadow Ball.
Noticing a familiar yellow Pokémon on the ground, Victor quickly called out to Gengar.
"Gengar, wait! The Vespiquen is in there, too!"
Gengar immediately dispersed its Gravity, and all the Pokémon regained their ability to fly.
The Vespiquen slowly floated up from the ground, its crimson eyes fixed on Gengar and Victor. Considering they had come to help, it patted itself down, flew over to Victor's side, and faced the group of Beautifly, Mothim, and Teddiursa.
The intruders hadn't left yet.
"Everyone, don't you know this is my territory? If you leave now, we can talk, but otherwise... Gengar, Dali, Erli, Sanli!"
Gengar came to Victor's front, its eyes glowing as it stared at the opposing Pokémon. His three Machoke also stood around him, looking at the bruised and battered Teddiursa.
Feeling the oppressive aura from them, one of the Beautifly cried out and was the first to leave, flying deep into the forest.
The rest of the Beautifly, Mothim, and Teddiursa all followed.
"If you come back and I catch you again, don't blame us for being impolite!" Victor shouted after their retreating backs.
Watching them leave, the Vespiquen waved a claw and then turned to look at Victor and his Pokémon.
"Ves."
"Don't mention it. Since you're living here, it's our duty to protect you," Victor said with a smile.
Gengar, on the other hand, cheekily floated over to the Vespiquen.
"Gengar—" Its big, red eyes narrowed into a cunning expression.
The Vespiquen stared at it, then let out a cry and flew deeper into the forest. It returned a moment later with a jar of Sweet Honey, handed it to Gengar, and then sped away.
"Gengar—"
Next time you're in trouble, remember to call us!
Seeing this, Victor couldn't help but facepalm.
"You big doofus, you..."
Gengar glanced at him.
"...did a great job," Victor finished.
"Gengar—"
Hehe.
"Ves!" A pair of crimson eyes lit up from deep within the forest.
"I was just kidding!" Victor shouted, then whispered, "Let's get out of here, fast."
He then hurried away.
After having Gengar put the Sweet Honey away, Victor patted the shoulders of Dali and the others.
"Good work. You'll get extra chicken drumsticks tomorrow."
"Machoke!" They gave a thumbs-up, flashing a mouthful of silvery-white teeth.
Back in his room, he reassured the Petilil and the others that everything was fine, then carried the Petilil back out to its flowerpot on the balcony. He said goodnight again and fell into a deep sleep.
