Chapter 307 - Chapter 306: A New Weapon

Although it looked almost identical to her original door-panel-sized greatsword, with just one glance, Kanna felt that this weapon was not as simple as it seemed.

"Sorry, sorry, there was a small, small accident, but thankfully I made it in time," Nian said, a little embarrassed, as she walked up to everyone.

"It's nothing. Let's depart once everyone's here!" To avoid any further complications, and in case Empress Dowager Kaltsit suddenly changed her mind, Kanna didn't bother to first understand the new weapon's situation. She simply waved her hand, ordering the team to depart.

Accompanied by the piercing sound of horns, the convoy slowly drove out of Rhodes Island.

On the rooftop, Scout gazed at Kanna leading the team away, and slowly let out a breath.

"Oh dear, without little Kanna, Rhodes Island is much less fun. Should I go out and play too?" Scout murmured to himself, leaning back in his chair.

"No need to consider it. There's a mission for you," a cold voice came from the entrance. The Operators nearby only then noticed that Ascalon had appeared there at some unknown point.

Upon hearing the newcomer's words, Scout's eyes lit up, but he quickly suppressed his excitement.

"You could just send a message through the terminal to assign a mission. Why bother Miss Ascalon to come in person?"

"For this mission, besides you and your squad, Manticore and Scavenger from SWEEP will also accompany you. They will be under your jurisdiction until you return to Rhodes Island. You must ensure they all return safely." Ascalon's tone remained cold, but it was clear she valued the SWEEP members.

Scout pulled down the brim of his hat, "Oh dear, this is going to be troublesome."

However, Ascalon had already disappeared from the doorway and did not notice the seriousness in his eyes.

Soon, Scout received a message: depart in a week to Victoria for reconnaissance operations.

On the other side, after leaving Rhodes Island, Kanna's constantly anxious heart finally settled.

"Speaking of which, has the plan for this mission been finalized? How should we proceed?"

As the captain, Kanna had assigned the task of formulating the action plan and route to Anto yesterday. Anto, living up to expectations, had drawn up a preliminary plan.

"That's right. According to the plan, we will first head to our office in northern Laterano, stay there briefly to update intelligence, and then decide on our subsequent destination. After all, through communications between Calamity Messengers, Rhodes Island received news of suspected Calamity activity in northern Laterano.

The reason Laterano invited Rhodes Island is undoubtedly the appearance of Infected flying the 'Reunion Movement' banner here. Rhodes Island happens to have clashed with them before, and Laterano hopes we can remove these unstable elements through unofficial channels. This way, they can resolve the unstable Infected within their territory without using official forces, which, to the authorities, is clearly a huge bonus point in front of the Twin Empresses."

"Then aren't these people worried about Rhodes Island and Reunion Movement joining forces? After all, they are both Infected organizations?"

"That's why Rhodes Island was invited, not other organizations. The great battle between Reunion Movement and Rhodes Island in Chernobog had long spread to the ears of the upper echelons of various countries. Everyone knows that when our two sides meet, the chances of confrontation are far greater than reconciliation," Anto shrugged in response.

With Anto assisting in arranging the itinerary, Kanna no longer concerned herself with the matter. She turned to look at the passing scenery.

In the afternoon, the convoy, which had been driving all day, slowly came to a halt in the wilderness.

After getting out of the vehicles, everyone began to stretch their bodies, as sitting in a car all day was indeed quite uncomfortable.

Kanna walked over to Nian, looking at her as she swung her tail (to ensure the safety of the convoy, Kanna and Nian were in separate vehicles, one at the very front and one at the very back of the team).

"Your weapon is in the car, but now your weapon is a bit special. When you pick it up, I suggest you channel a little electricity into it before you act."

Seeing Kanna walk over, Nian pointed to the car behind her.

Kanna, hearing this, lightly pushed off and jumped onto the car. As she got closer, Kanna keenly noticed that her sword had countless "cracks" on it.

When she grasped the hilt, she was even more certain: the only sensation she felt was the hilt in front of her, meaning that the sword body and hilt of this massive weapon were actually separate.

At this moment, Kanna recalled what Nian had just said, and cautiously emitted a faint trace of electricity from her hand.

The next second, she felt the weapon in her hand change. Once the current reached the hilt, she could clearly feel the greatsword, which was completely separate from the hilt in front of her.

And what surprised her most was that the cracks she saw covering the greatsword were not only real, but the entire greatsword was composed of countless small particles.

In other words, although it looked like a sword, it was actually a large pile of small metal particles.

With just a thought, these metal particles adhered to the hilt, reassembling into a greatsword.

At this, Kanna slapped her thigh. "I knew why this felt so familiar! Isn't this the weapon from Wu Liuqi!"

"Besides a greatsword, you can also imagine it as other things, as long as the size doesn't exceed the total size of the metal," Nian said, instructing Kanna after seeing her successfully "pick up" the weapon.

Upon hearing Nian's instruction, Kanna simply had a thought. Under the gazes of her squad, the greatsword in her hand quickly reassembled, transforming into a massive hammer.

Then, the hammer contracted inward as if melting, and the entire weapon enveloped Kanna's body, transforming into a small, full-coverage armor.

Afterward, swords, spears, halberds, axes, yue, hooks, and forks—various weapons—changed continuously in Kanna's hands, looking very eye-catching.

"Is it fun?" Seeing Kanna's mouth split into a wide grin, Nian was also very happy.

"It's really too much fun." Kanna hadn't expected that what she thought would be a simple rework could bring her such a huge surprise. Her previous weapon, which could freely switch between a two-handed greatsword and two longswords, had already satisfied most of Kanna's weapon needs.

This new weapon was even more like her hand extending several meters out of thin air—besides being a weapon, Kanna could even transform it into a large hand that could open and close at will, allowing her to easily perform palm strikes and fist slams.

If there was one drawback to this weapon, it was its weight. The muffled groans Kanna made while swinging it clearly indicated its heaviness to everyone.

However, this drawback was no drawback at all for Kanna. With her strength, swinging a weapon of this weight was roughly equivalent to the effort a normal person would need to swing a plastic toy sword.
