Chapter 177 - Chapter 176: Changing Destiny

Moreover, during her time on Rhodes Island, Scout was the Elite Operator with whom Kanna had the best relationship—this was also related to Kanna frequently going out to avoid Kal'tsit.

Because of this, she also had a good relationship with Scout's team members. She had been paying close attention to this squad since they advanced into Chernobog.

Around 4:00 AM

Raidian wiped a fine sweat from her forehead. The equipment repair work was smoother than she had imagined, and she restored communications in only half the estimated time.

While Raidian re-established contact with Amiya, Kanna also used the restored communication to contact Scout.

"Hello! Is Scout there?" Kanna's voice came through Scout's earpiece.

"This is the reconnaissance squad, I'm Captain Scout. Is there an emergency!" After entering combat, Scout no longer had his usual jovial demeanor from Rhodes Island.

"About two blocks ahead of you, there's a team of nearly a hundred people heading in your direction, expected to reach your squad's position in five minutes. At the intersection ahead, there's a patrol of about twenty people moving from east to west on the eastern road. Based on my guess, these are also enemies from Reunion Movement."

"Scout received, re-planning the route of advance." As he spoke, Scout pulled out a pre-prepared map and began to examine it.

Kanna watched as Scout's group paused for more than ten seconds before turning into an alley, a slight smile on her lips. "I will continue to provide assistance for your advance. Please keep communications open."

"Understood." After the words fell, Scout's line went silent again.

"Amiya and her team are also preparing to enter, Kanna, please provide guidance." Raidian's voice sounded from the side.

Kanna looked at the previously designated Rhodes Island advance route and couldn't help but admire the quality of these Elite Operators. In just half a night, they had found the fastest route to the "Stone Coffin" amidst the destruction of the Catastrophe.

After observing the situation on the route, Kanna contacted Amiya. "The road is clear, you can proceed."

Following Kanna's voice, several squads rushed towards their destination like dragons emerging from their lairs.

Kanna, from her elevated position, multi-tasked, directing both Amiya and Scout simultaneously. Under her powerful full-map observation, both teams reached their intended targets with hardly any resistance.

After Amiya led her team into the Stone Coffin, Kanna focused most of her attention on Scout's side.

Accompanied by celebrations in the channel, they successfully eliminated the designated target, Garrison, thanks to Scout's exceptional performance.

After Garrison's death, the Sarkaz mercenaries began to stir. Of course, they weren't in chaos because their leader died, but rather preparing to encircle and eliminate this audacious squad.

If one were to speak of the combat strength of Reunion Movement, then this Sarkaz mercenary team was undoubtedly among the best. Although nominally a mercenary group, they were actually elite Sarkaz dispatched by Theresis, with many of Theresis's subordinates mixed among them.

Upon discovering their leader had been sniped, the others immediately formed dozens of small teams and stealthily approached Scout's sniper position.

Kanna immediately warned them upon discovery, and Scout's squad immediately began to retreat in the predetermined direction.

They hadn't felt it upon entering, but during the retreat, Scout's squad realized the formidable strength of this Sarkaz mercenary group. Even with Kanna's reminders, they were still caught by the tail.

Fortunately, due to Kanna's presence, Scout's squad had powerful tactical weapons. Under his arrangements, the team would drop two Electro Seeds each time, relying on Kanna's fearless clones to cover their retreat.

Even so, the two teams chased and fled until Scout's group, in a state of disarray, all jumped down from Chernobog, finally ending the pursuit. The last Electro Seed remaining in Scout's hand acted as a first responder under Kanna's control when the team jumped off the mobile city, catching all the team members from the air to the ground. Then, using the last bit of time, it rushed to the top and performed a Ten Thousand Thunders Heavenly Prison, effectively trapping the Sarkaz on top of the city.

A few minutes later, a female American cockroach walked to the edge of the urban area with a wild smile, then mocked her friend beside her. "Hahahahaha, Hreid, you're an old mercenary, after all, and this is all you've got? This?"

"Bringing so many people, not only did you fail to catch the killer of the leader, but you also lost dozens of brothers. If this gets back to Kazdel, we'll be laughed to death."

"Let me make it clear, not catching them is because you're too weak, I'm not taking the blame! Alas~ I don't know how much commission will be deducted when I go back, just thinking about it makes my heart ache..."

Hreid glanced at W and walked into the city. Garrison's death was very strange; the enemy had infiltrated the core of the urban area without anyone noticing, then sniped Garrison at dawn when everyone was relaxed. Such a long distance, yet they weren't discovered by the surrounding guards.

It should be known that the defenders in this area were all Sarkaz, and many were veterans who had experienced many battles. How could such a huge flaw be exposed?

Then there was that terrifying purple figure during their pursuit.

Not to mention the opponent's elusive and ghostly abilities, even that terrifying lightning magic made his heart palpitate.

He had personally witnessed a Caster, despite having a magic shield, being directly broken through by a nearly one-meter-thick current and then electrocuted into a charred mess.

Even Casters couldn't withstand the burst of Kanna's clone, let alone those greatswords. Their weapons couldn't even touch anyone, and then they were miserably drowned in the sky full of lightning.

Speaking of which, he initially found the leader of this team very familiar. After recalling for a long time, he remembered it was an old acquaintance, Scout. He remembered Scout belonged to Rhodes Island under Theresa. After Theresa's death, he didn't choose to leave, but in his impression, the other party didn't have such magical abilities.

Coupled with the obvious phantom and fearless fighting style, he was certain that he was only facing a clone, but he had never imagined that a clone could be so troublesome.

Just as they were returning, they heard news from the other side of the city... While escorting Scout's group to evacuate, Amiya also successfully retrieved the Doctor from the "Stone Coffin."
