Chapter 110 - Chapter 109: Beast Cage

Accompanied by a piercing shriek, a huge and terrifying monster appeared before everyone.

Making their already twisted faces, due to the Abyssal corruption, become even more grotesque and terrifying.

The already restless mon3tr, upon its appearance, used both its sharp claws and the barbed hooks on its tail, instantly tearing to shreds the closest individuals and the tentacles behind Kal'tsit.

Blood turned into powder, filling the air and making the City Hall, already reeking of the salty stench of the ocean, even more unbearable.

Because Kal'tsit was near the main entrance, mon3tr's swift movements and sharp claws completely blocked it, leaving no opportunity for anyone to escape. The surviving Abyssal Cultists' expressions shifted from excitement to astonishment to terror, then they scrambled towards the back of the City Hall.

Meanwhile, various bizarre-looking creatures constantly emerged from dark corners and adjacent rooms, rushing towards Kal'tsit's direction, dripping with disgusting slime.

Ten minutes later, Kal'tsit, who had been as still as a statue, finally looked up towards the back hall. Around her, strange creatures from the abyss piled up throughout the hall. Only mon3tr, after its satisfying slaughter, became extremely excited. It waved its claws and walked ahead, clearing a path for Kal'tsit.

"A decent Originium Arts. I guess this directly connected the entire City Hall to some part of the deep sea, which is why there are so many abyssal creatures, right?"

Upon reaching the back hall, Kal'tsit found those who had previously been arrogant now huddled together, trembling in despair. She spoke with a hint of mockery in her voice.

Seeing not the 'Abyssal brethren' they had hoped for but the terrifying monster of their enemy entering, everyone showed expressions of horror.

"What a pity. This kind of Art must have its flaws. Let me guess! Hmm, while maintaining this spell, you all probably can't leave this place either, can you?" Kal'tsit tapped the Originium particles on her shoulder with her folded hands.

"So why not just be human? Why insist on believing in those monsters that aren't even beasts!" Under Kal'tsit's command, mon3tr began its final slaughter. For these Abyssal Cultists, since she had made her move, Kal'tsit had no intention of leaving any alive.

"Monster! How dare you call us monsters? What about you! Hahahahaha, you're not human either, are you! You'll die too. The final victory will belong to the abyss!" Realizing they couldn't escape, those people glared at Kal'tsit with hatred, letting out their final roars before death.

"Noisy!" Facing the bloody scene before her, Kal'tsit's eyes showed no ripples. The situation in Rock Bay Town was worse than she had imagined. She wondered how things were at the Monastery.

Of course, she wasn't worried about Kanna having problems, but rather worried that Kanna might act thoughtlessly and too ruthlessly, giving the other side an opportunity to cause trouble.

With the death of the last person, a terrifying roar came from the shadows, and then the air gradually dried up. The light shining through the windows was no longer dim. The spell that had enveloped the City Hall finally ended, and Kal'tsit and mon3tr returned to the City Hall of Rock Bay Town.

The blood and fabric torn by mon3tr also remained forever in that mysterious deep sea with the disappearance of the spell.

Turning to walk back to the main hall, as Kal'tsit expected, there were no bodies left. Since she had cleansed all living beings, the hall became exceptionally spacious and desolate. Feeling the light scattered from above, Kal'tsit closed her eyes and bathed in it. After a long time, she slowly opened her eyes and walked out. At this point, the City Hall no longer had that eerie smell, only a clean, empty space... Upon exiting, she realized it was already afternoon, and there were no other guards or administrators around, so she wasn't questioned or interrogated when she came out.

After stepping out, she was originally going to return to the Monastery, but at this moment, an uncomfortable sensation emanated from the sea. She looked up at the orderly lives of the residents of Rock Bay Town, then turned and walked towards the lighthouse again.

Meanwhile, Ilena, who had waited until the afternoon without Kal'tsit returning, felt uneasy. She went to the third floor and found Kanna.

Kanna glanced at Dona, who sat inside like a wooden puppet, then walked out the door.

"Don't worry, Sister Ilena. Kal'tsit isn't as weak as you think! Compared to Kal'tsit, I think the people downstairs are the ones who are about to lose their patience."

As time passed, the atmosphere among the crowd grew increasingly oppressive. Coupled with the Abyssal Cultists colluding within, although the situation in the square seemed manageable for now, it was actually like a powder keg filled with gunpowder, needing only a tiny spark to ignite the crowd.

"Do you have any ideas?" Hearing Kanna's words, Ilena looked at the square below and also felt it was troublesome. Although she had temporarily suppressed the situation with her identity as an Inquisitor, she was ultimately an outsider and had no one she could fully trust here. So, for now, she relied entirely on the prestige accumulated by the Inquisition over the years to keep the situation under control.

But this suppression wouldn't last long. As soon as the other side discovered her weakness, it would be easy for them to turn the tables.

"First, let Lucy pick two people to clean up the bodies. They're still lying there for everyone to see. After all, there are still many ordinary people, and having them stand with corpses naturally won't calm their hearts." Kanna had observed the situation downstairs for a long time during this period, which is why she dared to offer suggestions.

"Why Lucy? Isn't she an enemy?" Ilena was a bit confused.

"Although they are all enemies, they are a group of people, not just one person; they will always have their own thoughts! Haven't you noticed? That Lucy has always stood on the outermost edge of the group. From how quickly she could order two people to kill that innocent nun, I don't think she's just an ordinary opponent. Logically speaking, she should at least be a minor high-ranking member. So, as a high-ranking member, she isn't inside with the others trying to figure out how to deal with us, but instead has been outside all along, as if deliberately avoiding something. Don't you think there's a problem?"

Kanna gestured for Ilena to look towards the crowd and then spoke.

Ilena recalled, and indeed, as Kanna said, ever since everyone had gathered, she had seen Lucy pass before her more than once, looking like an enthusiastic assistant, helping her manage the gathered people.
