"I just heard some interesting rumors, and recently I've been bored, so I came out to relax and confirm them." Kal'tsit leaned back in her chair.
Hearing Kal'tsit's obvious excuse, the "Saint" didn't expose her.
"It's also our fault for intruding on you uninvited. However, it's not easy for you to come to Iberia. If The Inquisition didn't make any moves, you might even think there's a problem. How about this... Dassault, Dassault, come here for a moment." The Saint waved to an Inquisitor by the door.
"Dassault is a reliable Inquisitor. He will accompany you on your journey from now on. I have other matters to attend to, so I apologize for interrupting your trip to Iberia. He has traveled and is familiar with most places in Iberia, so with him, I believe whatever you need to do will go very smoothly." The person who entered was a middle-aged man around forty years old. From his resolute eyes and upright posture, it was clear he was a loyal warrior.
"Clang, clang, clang!" Before Kal'tsit could speak, Kanna clapped on the table beside her.
"Oh! Is there a problem, little one?" Seeing Kanna's action, the Saint asked with a smile.
Kanna stared directly at Kal'tsit without saying a word.
"If you have something to say, say it! Why are you looking at me!" Kal'tsit glared at Kanna, annoyed.
Watching their interaction, a flicker of thought crossed the Saint's eyes. In his memory, Kal'tsit had always appeared as a leader, rarely seen taking others' opinions. He hadn't expected to see a different side of her this time. Could there be something special about this little girl?
"Hmph! You're the one who allowed me to speak! Don't use this as an excuse to give me more homework!" Kanna first said to Kal'tsit, then looked at the old man called the Saint. "Old man, you see, Kal'tsit and I are both women. Isn't it inappropriate for you to arrange a big man? Don't your Inquisitors have any women?"
Hearing Kanna's words, the Saint looked enlightened. He patted his head and said with a smile, "I'm sorry, my arrangement was a mistake. I didn't consider your genders. How about this, Ilena, you will accompany Ms. Kal'tsit and this little one on their trip to Iberia!"
A Liberi woman around thirty years old, hearing the summons, walked in from outside. She respectfully saluted the old man, then stood quietly not far away.
Kanna nodded at this. Looking at the old man, Kal'tsit would definitely have someone accompanying her throughout her journey in Iberia. So, instead of finding a man, it's better to find a nice lady... well, even though she ended up with an auntie, it's still better than an uncle.
After the old man finished eating, he left the shop with his other subordinates, leaving behind a poker-faced Kal'tsit, the quiet Ilena standing by, and Kanna still "huffing and puffing" at the food in front of her.
With the spirit of eating more when someone else is paying, Kanna, amidst the shop owner's fear turning to shock, calmly devoured ten large plates of braised pig trotters, leaving nothing behind.
After the group left, he still looked at the empty plates with a puzzled expression, unable to figure out where all those pig trotters had gone, especially since the little girl seemed unfazed even at the end.
As they left, Kal'tsit was chatting with the Inquisitor named Ilena. Soon, they reached an agreement, and the Inquisitor got into the back seat.
After hitting the road again, guided by Ilena, the vehicle sped towards its intended destination, Rock Bay Town.
Thanks to Iberia's vast territory, the vehicle took almost another half month to arrive near Rock Bay Town.
The slightly salty air blowing in from the sea swept away everyone's fatigue, finally reigniting the excitement of Kanna, who had grown bored throughout the journey.
Suddenly, the vehicle stopped. Kanna looked at Kal'tsit beside her, puzzled. Kal'tsit merely raised her chin slightly, indicating that there was someone on the ground in front of the car.
Kanna slipped out of the car window, and Ilena followed, getting out of the car.
Not far in front of the car, a girl dressed in Abyssal Church attire lay unconscious on the ground.
Kanna's ears twitched. After listening, her breathing and heartbeat were stable, so she signaled to Kal'tsit that it was safe, then walked over to the girl.
"She's a missionary from our Abyssal Church," Ilena said after checking the girl's condition.
"She doesn't seem to have any injuries or signs of torture. It looks more like she hasn't eaten for too long and fainted on the road from hunger." Ilena skillfully performed an emergency check on the girl and then breathed a sigh of relief.
"This place isn't far from Rock Bay Town. Why would a missionary faint here?" Kal'tsit poked her Feline head out of the car.
Ilena shook her head at this.
Kanna, who was beside them, observed the girl's clothing and then said, "I think she should be from Rock Bay Town."
Hearing Kanna's words, the other two looked over with strange expressions.
"Her shoes," Kanna prompted.
Looking down at the girl's shoes, Ilena suddenly understood. "There isn't much dirt on her socks, and her shoes are relatively clean, which means she must have just cleaned them and hasn't walked very far. The closest city here is only Rock Bay Town, so this girl must have come from Rock Bay Town."
At this, the three couldn't help but feel even stranger. What kind of situation would cause a missionary to leave the town and then be "starved" unconscious by the roadside so close to it?
Everything seemed so illogical.
"Anyway, it's not far. Let's just go into town and see," Kanna said helplessly, seeing Kal'tsit and Ilena exchanging glances again.
"Ding-dong!" At this moment, the system, which had been silent until now, finally stirred, releasing a new mission.
As Ilena carried the girl to the back seat of the car, Kanna quietly got back into the car and looked at the mission log.
Successfully leave Iberia with Kal'tsit using only one system skill. Upon mission completion, receive a random enhanced skill.
Kanna was stunned when she saw the reward. Previous missions either granted a random skill, a specified skill, or a powerful skill. This concept of a random enhanced skill was new to her. It seemed to be stronger than a random skill but not quite as powerful as a powerful skill.
The conditions for obtaining the skill were even more interesting: she could only choose to use one system-learned skill before she and Kal'tsit left Iberia.
The meaning was clear: the upcoming battles were not meant for skill usage. Even the heavens were hinting at her to engage in close-quarters combat or use weapons for melee fights.
