Chapter 90 - Chapter 89: Old Lynx vs. Young Dragon

Taking the documents, her name and photo were still Kanna Kamui, but her identity had changed to Kal'tsit's adopted daughter.

Her background story also changed to being a trafficked child from the Sargon Wyvern Autonomous Region, rescued by Kal'tsit, becoming her adopted daughter, staying on Rhodes Island, and this trip was for tourism with her.

Other things hadn't changed much. It was clear Kal'tsit was worried that if the setting changed too much, Kanna's small brain might make mistakes.

"My plan is to detour to Siracusa first. Although Siracusa seems chaotic, as long as you're willing to spend money, you can get many things, such as the official permit we need to enter Iberia. Then, we'll enter Laterano. I know some Liberi there who will take us through official channels without excessive scrutiny. Finally, after entering Iberia, we'll go directly to Rock Bay Town."

After listening to Kal'tsit, Kanna stroked her chin. Siracusa, the hometown of the Twin Wolves, analogous to the Italy she knew. Kanna's deepest impression of Italy was of the 'Yakuza Star.'

"I know Siracusa!"

Thinking of this, Kanna raised her hand. Catching Kal'tsit's peripheral glance, she leaned forward, crossed her arms in front of her eyes, and said in a deliberately deep voice,

"I can offer you a deal you can't refuse. Revenge is a dish best served cold. What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully? You wouldn't even call me Godfather."

Just as Kanna was enthusiastically mimicking a scene from "The Godfather" from memory, Kal'tsit said coldly,

"If you're bored, you can look at the books on the back seat. They contain the history of Siracusa, Laterano, and Iberia. I will personally assign you homework later."

"Gah..." The excitement that had just emerged was completely extinguished by a single sentence.

"You can't do that... Reading in the car will affect your eyesight!" Before she could even gloat, she received the terrible news that she had homework to do. Kanna was very displeased and tried to use an excuse to force Kal'tsit to retract her order.

"Oh! It doesn't matter if you can't see it; there's a recorder. You can listen with your ears, right? Remember to bring headphones..."

Kanna-chan stared in shock at Kal'tsit, who looked calm. She couldn't believe Kal'tsit would be so malicious, setting up a Young Dragon like her. And Kanna-chan had poured her heart and soul into Rhodes Island!

I refuse! I demand to see the leader!

What?

Kal'tsit is the de facto leader of Rhodes Island?

Oh, never mind then... Kanna-chan slumped onto her seat, her eyes vacant as she looked up at the sky—this world is beyond saving.

Perish, world! Shatter, reality!

A few minutes later, Kanna-chan, wearing headphones, heard the mechanical broadcast voice and instantly felt her eyelids succumb to a powerful sealing technique. Before the history of Siracusa was even a third of the way through, she succumbed to the power of the seal and fell asleep.

Seeing Kanna-chan asleep, Kal'tsit's usually cold lips curled into a slight smile.

Before they left, she had anticipated that this little one, Kanna-chan, would be difficult to handle, so she brought along the audio textbooks she had bought for Amiya. Sure enough, this seemingly casual move yielded unexpectedly miraculous results.

When Kanna-chan woke up, the sky had already turned dark, and Kal'tsit was outside boiling water and cooking.

Rubbing her eyes and yawning, Kanna-chan crawled out of the car.

"Dinner will be ready in ten minutes. You can go wash your face by the river nearby first."

Kanna-chan quickly ran off, afraid that if she moved too slowly, Kal'tsit would catch her and ask about the things she supposedly learned in the car that afternoon.

Are you kidding? The moment she put on the headphones, she started battling the demon of sleep and ultimately suffered a crushing defeat. How could she have had the energy to listen to any of that content?

Only after stepping out did she realize that Kal'tsit had parked the car next to a small hill, leaning against it and using the car to block most of it. This way, even at night, the largely obscured firelight wouldn't attract too much attention.

And not far from their temporary camp was a small river, which could meet their water needs. It was clear that while the old Feline was a bit of a riddle, and her skills outside of medicine were somewhat lacking, her survival experience was quite extensive.

"There are fish in the river. If you want to eat fish, catch them yourself; I can grill them for you! But don't make too much noise while catching them!" As Kanna-chan was about to reach the river, Kal'tsit's voice drifted over.

Hearing about fish, Kanna-chan perked up. A few hops of her short legs brought her to the riverbank.

She widened her eyes and investigated, and indeed, as Kal'tsit said, though the river didn't look large, it was teeming with fish.

Rolling up her sleeves, Kanna-chan pushed off the ground and instantly darted to the middle of the river. She unleashed Palm Thunder with both hands, and several large fish, which had been leisurely enjoying the late night, suddenly jolted, their eyes rolling back as they floated to the surface belly-up.

Kanna-chan, having landed on the other side of the river, pushed off the ground again, leaping back the way she came. Along the way, she casually scooped up all dozen or so stunned fish.

She was wondering how she would carry so many fish when she suddenly saw Mon3tr on alert nearby. Her eyes twinkled, and she threw the fish in her hands towards Mon3tr.

Feeling the sudden whooshing sound from the riverbank, Mon3tr instinctively raised its scythe-like claws.

With several whooshing sounds, dozens of fish accurately passed through its claws, impaling themselves on them like kebabs.

"Nicely skewered, Mon3tr! With that skill, you'd definitely make money as a grill master."

Although Mon3tr's appearance was quite terrifying, Kanna-chan, being bold due to her skill, was completely unfazed.

After the other party "caught" her dinner, Kanna-chan contentedly jumped onto a rock beside it and then reached out her small hand to pat its claw with satisfaction.

Receiving such "favor," Mon3tr, like a startled bird, quickly retreated to Kal'tsit's side.

Seeing Mon3tr, whom she had entrusted with immense trust, acting like an ordinary pet in Kanna-chan's hands, Kal'tsit also seemed a bit helpless. After all, even Amiya would appear scared and fearful in front of Mon3tr's terrifying appearance.

Currently, only Kanna-chan could completely ignore Mon3tr's threats and warnings and scare it to such an extent.

As she removed the fish from Mon3tr's claws, Kal'tsit, for the first time, felt a sense of grievance from her "partner."

What surprised her most was that the fish in her hands had all been cut open and cleaned thoroughly. There was no need for her to do any further processing; they could be put directly over the fire to grill.

Seeing Kal'tsit's expression as she looked over, Kanna-chan clapped her hands. "Don't look at me like that. Organs are hard to handle and smell strong, so they definitely need to be removed. I'm just small, not stupid."
