RoR, Hogwarts
–Damian Hawthorne–
Yawning, he snapped the book shut, despite the interest the material had managed to draw out of him. It was kind of a revelation how whoever wrote this had interacted with nobles from France, most probably, judging by the opulence he had installed in some of the mansions.
Hell, he was sure that if he went on a sightseeing tour, he would find at least some signs of magic being used in some of those ancient castles that were kept as museums and tourist traps. Hell, there was some truly first world stuff the author built for the nobles, including a sixteen nozzle shower that would shoot out not just water at different temperatures, but alcohol, honey, milk, and more, with the enchantments accounting for the different densities and pressure required to shoot out those substances for optimal experiences.
He had a pretty good idea as to what those experiences were, especially considering the location of those nozzles.
Kinky.
Shaking his head, he stored the book in his pouch and stood up, stretching to get the kinks out of his back, though he mostly did it out of habit these days, as his current body could probably manage days of continuously sitting and reading without any physical effects. It was just his mind, which was used to reading for a couple of hours before the monotonous activity got his mind finding other activities to do, no matter how boring they might be.
Taking a look at the room that was given to him when he thought of the ideal reading room, he smiled. The mental probe from the Room of Requirement was easy to find and rebuff if need be. He made sure it only got whatever images he projected to the front of his mind, which is why this room was a near replica of the reading room he had back in his lair, the one he'd built to his preferences.
Turning his back on it, he willed the door to appear and stepped out of the room. It was pretty late, but he was not really worried about that. Instead, he took his time, traversing the entire length of the floor, before finally deciding to go back to his dorm, confident that Terry must have fallen asleep by now.
Trying one more time before he left, he called out, "Tommy?" and someone did answer. A house elf popped up in front of him with wide eyes, dressed in the official Hogwarts House Elf uniform.
"What can Tommys be doing for you, sir?" Tommy asked him, but this was not that Tommy, so he just smiled, but instead of letting him go without giving him any task, something that just increased their anxiety, he asked the House Elf, "Can you get me some water? In this container? I am very thirsty, you see."
Tommy gingerly took the steel flask from his hand, looked up at him for a moment too long before nodding and disappearing with a pop, appearing a moment later, with the flask full of cold water. Taking the offered container, he nodded and dismissed the House Elf, lamenting the lack of interaction with Tommy. Tommy clearly did not want to meet him, to the point he or either Hogwarts sent in another House Elf with that same name, despite his intent being the weird Tommy.
He could force the issue, but where would that leave him? It was much better to just ignore the issue, and focus on the more important and far more distressing possibility of either his mind being tampered with or the surge of irrational emotions due to his enhanced body, so to speak.
Last he remembered, he had High magical Talent, as a perk given to him by the ROB who sent him here. As a consequence of that, he also had heightened sensitivity to magic, on top of the ability to detect the flavours in magic, something that has not been recorded for any wizard to have, as far as he could find. Could it be that due to that perk, his magic itself was perceiving magical creatures and sending irrational thoughts to his mind to protect them at any cost? Had he become the victim of a prank by the ROB? Did he have to protect magical creatures now?
Wait a minute….
The vampires as well, he had a pretty strong reaction to the Pureblood Vampire as well, though he was able to control himself then much better than right now. Wonder why.
If that truly was the case, then it meant that the magical creature in question had to be special as well, since he did not feel anything when he met Hagrid, Professor Flitwick, the other House Elves, or the litany of banned magical creatures he saw in the Black Markets when he visited them.
Another thing he noted in his self investigation, before moving to enter the Dorms, hoping that there were no late night study sessions happening this time. Once was enough.

–Albus Dumbledore—
"....You think he is innocent," Kato repeated his words to him, slowly, menacingly, while he sat in front of him, sipping on his tea peacefully. Kato was daring him to admit to his words.
"Yes," So, he did. Kato might not like it, Wakanda might not like it, but it was the truth. In reality, he was sympathetic to their plight, based on what he knew. Just like wizards, they were hiding from the muggles, basically for their continued existence, because he knew as much as every wizard that muggles would not stop unless the other is extinguished in some way, shape, or form.
For now, that other was their own species, just different in color or language, but if they found out about their existence, well, either one side would perish or the far more likely option, both sides would exhaust each other to the point of population collapse, at the end of which the muggles will launch their full arsenal of world ending weapons.
A proposal had reached the ICW in recent years to order the Unspeakable division to come up with something that could neutralise the thousands of nuclear weapons that the muggles held in their possession. It hadn't gone anywhere because most member states did not truly believe the muggles capable of causing harm, but he foresaw a rising consensus on that matter, if things went in the direction he could see them going.
"Albus Dumbledore," Kato began, the cold tea placed in front of Kato vibrating due to the magical pressure Kato exuded at the moment, "Do not presume to lecture me, just because you happen to be my senior in age. Even if I assume that you are speaking the truth, he had no purpose being in that place. That alone is a crime."
"In your jurisdiction," He unhelpfully pointed out, sipping on his wonderful ginger tea, letting Kato vent out his anger and frustration.
"Then, I will drag him to my jurisdiction."
He raised an eyebrow at the unexpected frustration from Kato. He might not know the man on a personal level, but they had met and interacted plenty of times during ICW meetings, as representatives of peer schools, and he had never seen Kato this unsettled before.
"You're worried about something," He casually remarked, his intuition proven correct when Kato's neck snapped towards him, face tightening as he realised he had let his emotions get the better of him.
"I will speak to you tomorrow," Kato said and stormed out of his office, his magic snapping back into control. He felt the House Elf pop before Kato, as he was led to the same guest quarters as his team.
Leaning back in his chair, he sighed and looked at Fawkes, hoping that everything went smoothly because he might not need an international incident, but he will do everything in his power to make sure that bloodthirsty Hit Men who were allowed to stay in his school for the time being, would not be a danger to his students.
