Walter had basically given up the entire internal conflict of his kingdom. He was in a desperate state after all. It was still only Layla and Kurt with him in a cabin room, sailing down the river to Wellspring.
"It actually might be best for us to attack now," said Layla. "Assuming they don't think you turned."
"We know about that little altar you have."
Layla's face dropped. "That would be a problem."
"Yes, so there is only one then?"
"Unfortunately," said Layla.
"No," said Kurt. "There is no way to save them. As soon as we save one of them, the rest would be put in danger, and we would have their own armies fighting us."
"There has to be something we can do," said Walter.
"War," said Layla.
"It's likely unavoidable with them already here," said Kurt.
"So invade our lands," said Walter.
"Invade their lands," said Kurt.
"Huh?"
"So you want to enlist Elizabeth's help here."
