The time had come. Mistress Lilly would emerge as Mother Lilly and have a brood of her own, outside of direct control of Carla. Kurt was informed that this can be a troublesome time because of that balance. Before everyone but Lilly was under Carla, now there would be a whole brood of goblins loyal to Lilly alone.
She had taken Carla's old birthing room, the one in Wellspring Falls, along the canyon.
Susan, Laura, and a few more mothers had gathered. The 'mom's club' seemed to love the regular excuse to drink some wine together. For the first time, Carla was in the audience with them. As Carla and Lilly's cycles were different.
Mother Layla exited her cave along with a brood of goblins. Walking in front, now again as a slim mother goblin.
"Lord Kurt, Queen Layla," said Mother Lilly, "you honor me." She had a very wide smile.
"We congratulate you on your first brood Mother Lilly," said Layla.
