The downtown traffic crawled at a snail's pace as evening rush hour kicked into full swing. Through the windshield, I watched the endless parade of cars and pedestrians hurrying past. Young professionals in sharp suits and polished heels moved with purpose, their faces focused and determined.

The scene transported me back to my early days after college graduation. Those overwhelming weeks when work consumed every waking moment, leaving me drained and desperate for rest. Yet somehow, witnessing this urban energy always managed to breathe life back into my weary bones.

Everyone out there was fighting their own battles. Each person carried dreams, motivations, and a direction they were chasing. Back then, my goal was simple - own my own place. Despite knowing Cobb and I weren't exactly soulmates, I never felt beneath him or anyone else.

Love seemed straightforward then. Two people choosing each other, committing to build something together. That felt like enough.
