Dahlia's POV
When Ivana finished speaking with such brazen confidence, a cold laugh escaped my lips. My eyes narrowed as I stared her down with undisguised contempt.
"How exactly do you twist other people's generosity into your own shameless arrogance?"
Ivana's composure cracked instantly. Her eyes widened in shock before a flash of pure venom flickered across her features.
"Dahlia, that's enough." Cobb's voice boomed across the room, his face flushed with rage. "If you weren't a woman, I would have knocked you flat by now."
My lips curved into a sardonic smile as I met his furious glare. "Please, don't pretend you've never laid a hand on me before."
The entire ballroom went dead silent. Then the whispers began, rippling through the crowd like wildfire.
Cobb's face turned a mortifying shade of crimson.
But Flora was the first to completely lose her composure. Her hand flew toward my cheek in a vicious arc.
