Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

A girl ran toward a boy, who looked at her, seemingly puzzled. When she approached him, she hesitated before speaking. "I heard you called me, Sir Ray," she said. The boy was stunned; the way the girl bowed and addressed him felt a bit too formal for him. He waved his hand, trying to ease the tension, and began chatting. After they finished, she bowed again and then smiled as she ran away.

The boy scratched his head, realising that the conversation he had was useless. Still, he wanted to know if anything had happened in those 3 months. He asked the girl, who was president of the news club, hoping she might have some information about what had happened. Despite the questions he posed, he found that nothing new emerged, and he learned nothing about the attacker.

He sighed, realising he had no information about the attacker. As he began walking in the opposite direction from the girl, he reached his classroom. Opening the door, he glanced at the calendar and saw there were only two days left before the meeting with Venica. He felt hesitant to attend because he still couldn't find any relevant information.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to share everything the girl had told him. For the last couple of days, he had been helping his class and the entire third year in their program. The updated plan was shared with all those who were chosen as representatives for the festival, where each year would present something different, since even the repleanse were going to attend. Some even mentioned that the three knights might appear at the festival.

Most students were working hard to do their best, while Ray, on the other hand, was simply monitoring the situation. He and Ivory were busy moving from class to class, checking in on the progress, where Lloyd was gathering resources.

As Ray was heading home, he received a call telling him to return. He was confused as to why he was called, but decided to go back when he saw Llody standing in the middle of the hall. Ray did not understand what was happening as Llody moved his head back, telling him to follow, without trying to figure it out. Ray followed him. They then headed to the council room. As they opened the door, they saw the three seniors looking anxious and depressed.

"What's going on?" Ray seemgily becoming more confused. "They've been acting like this since the repleanse came. I can't believe they aren't even trying to do anything; they're just here sulking. At least the rest of their baggage is doing something. I've been trying to reach out to them, but every time I talk to them, it's like I'm speaking to a wall. They're not listening at all, probably because they're preoccupied with the fact that their plans have failed."

Ray nodded in agreement, saying, "I mean, can you blame them? It's their senior festival."

They wanted to make the festival premiere special, but their plans were interrupted. The changes that have been made affected them dearly. Ray then asked, "So where is Ivory at?"

Lloyd put his finger up," He is on the third floor helping the seniors."

Ray was proplacsed as he asked, "But you know that ivory doesn't have a good relationship with most of them. So, shouldn't we check on him? You know, just in case something happens?"

Lloyd sighed as he approached one of the seniors, playfully slapping his head against the table. "Well, don't worry about him! he will figure it out somehow. Until then, let's drag these folks over to class 12B!" he urged.

Lloyd grabbed one of them, and Ray grabbed the rest and pulled them upstairs to 12B class. Once they reached it, they opened the door, threw the students inside, and closed it, leaving them in the empty class.

Afterwards, they headed back to the student council to collect their belongings and throw them through the 12B room window. After that, they both left the school, heading back to their home. As they were walking, they began chatting to try to kill time before they diverged.

"What do you think will happen next week? Apparently, some plans could be added, but I doubt the legitimacy of those words," Lloyd spoke.

Ray noticed a flicker of anxiety cross Lloyd's face, and he realised it stemmed from the expectation that is put up on us. Ray rested his hand on Lloyd's shoulder. "Don't worry, man, even if they do add anything, it will not stop us from doing our best."

Ray spoke those words not because he believed in them but because he wanted to calm Lloyd a little.

Lloyd smiled a little," Thanks, man."

"No worry."

After that brief exchange, they both reached the departing point as they both headed back to their home.

Ray was running, trying to get back as fast as he could. Before he knew it, he reached his house, opened the door, greeted his aunt, and headed to his room. He closed the door and pulled out a pen and paper, then began writing. He put down the pen with a confident expression on his face.

"Well, I will give her this on the meeting day."

Time flew by as Ray was reading himself. It was the morning of Saturday, when school is meaningless until Monday.

He was taking a shower as he remembered every detail they were going to talk about. As he began drying himself, he came to the clothes he had prepared yesterday. He was still surprised as to why he was doing that, cause even in an important occasion, he just wore whatever he found, but this time he did think about what to wear for hours.

He looked at himself in the mirror to see his light blue blouse and black trousers with a look of fear.

He was calling himself as wearing his tie and shoes as he left. He was standing at the front of the train station waiting for her to arrive, glanced around to see a girl wearing a sparkling violet dress with a small glass hill and a long jacket worn behind her back like a cape, her silky brown hair and dark eyes gave her a more fearful and elegant look.

Ray was stunned, too stunned to speak. The girls closed to him as she spoke politely, "I will be in your care today."

She then held his arm with her hand as they walked away. For the most part, Ray was still trying to understand what was happening. They entered a cafe as most people's eyes were drawn to the two. Both sat and ordered some food. Before it came, Ray handed her a paper, she read it entirely and said," Well, before I tell you, is there anything you want to say.

He shook his head as he knew that the information was meaningless.

She put the paper down," So let me give all that info in a better way, the first and fourth are not useful since they were checked beforehand, the second one is interesting for me, and the third should have been written here in the first place, but all in all, you did your best for a loner."

Despite her cruel words, he knew what she said was right. They both chatted for a while as their food arrived, then Ray looked at her expression for some reason. He was curious as to why she was excited.

As they ate, Ray's curiosity got the better of him," So why are you too happy about this? It's not even fancy or anything special."

"Well, you are right, it is not that special, but I don't get that much time to do this type of stuff, so this is why, sure, I can get better food than this, but in the end, I don't have a chance to be in this type of place or have fun."

Hearing her words, Ray felt a little guilty for asking. He could hear her voice with a hint of sadness. He then put some money on the table and stood holding her hand. He said, "So let's make it a day special."

She was surprised as he took her out of the cafe and went somewhere else. She wanted to ask where they were going, but decided to leave as a surprise. As she became interested, they then stopped in front of a huge amusement park.

They began playing games, taking rollercoasters, and more. Before they knew it, the sun had already settled down, and Ray and Venica were walking holding hands. She then called for Ray to carry her on his back. Ray agrees to try his best to make her happy.

Ray began walking as Venica spoke," It certainly was not what I expected from today, but just from our clothes, it did not feel like just a talk, it felt more like... You know, like a date."

"You are kinda right, I was much worried about what to wear than the information about to give you."

"Well... I wouldn't call that information more of a junk, but still, thank you, Ray, for this day."

Ray was quite content about today, the fact that he helped her, and was kinda happy about it.

"So if you need any help with things like this, I will be there for you."

Hearing what he said, she became a little flustered. " I will remember that rifter ray."

Ray was embarrassed but then became shocked as he turned around to see that Venica's short brown hair was now thin and long white hair, and her black pupil was turning white by the second.

"How did you... Wait, you're a rifter too."

Ray was trying to process what was happening as he heard footsteps coming from a distance. Slowly, two figures appeared from the dark park road to the light.

The two men wear black jeans and laser black coats with a symbol of a white flower on their left chest.

One of the men walked towards them and said in a cold yet calm voice. "Ray, you have failed."
