Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - The Guild

After a few more hours of walking, Nathaniel would finally reached the town a bright decently large village.

' ' This town... It was called No Ingerton.. Hm.. It's definetly familiar. ' '

Nathaniel smiled softly being reminded of his home back at Terra, a fond memory of a life he once lives now gone

He once again looked far past the horizon towards the town as he resumed his journy

'I need a place for the Night especially with this little one'

Nathaniel looked behind him to see the sleeping Wolf in his bag

As he enterred the town, the streets were rather empty for it's size yet it was to be expected, after all.. It was night..?

Yet.. Nathaniel couldn't stop being uneasy, perhaps he had been in a similar situation before, an empty town despite it's size..

'Did the town get attacked recently..? There we're some bandits on the way..'

Nathaniel pondered as he continued waling, Most of the windows were closed with only faint lamplights lighting the streets of the barren town

After taking a few more turns he'd arrive at the Adventurer's Guild a sort of headquarters for Adventurer's of each town and city to gather completing quests and calls for aid

It was tidy, unexpected from a place which appears to be barren...

With a sigh he opened his palm, once again heat began to build up around it, though this time it manifested into a strange shape

'They probably won't accept a child becoming an adventurer..'

Instead of a ball of fire it manifested into a small mask to hide his identity, A crimson flaming mask which only let Nathaniel's crimson red eyes to be seen.

'The attackers didn't touch the Guild, perhaps.. Let's stay optimistic and say they couldn't get through the adventurers'

He entered the Guild to see.. It was lively, very lively infact filled with the stench of beer and laughter, it was lit up the complete opposite of the dim alleyways outside

'Isn't this a complete 180 from outside?.. I wonder why it's silent'

Nathaniel thought to himself as he walked towards to receptionist

' ' Ey lass, I'd like to be an Adventurer ' '

He spoke with a tone of confidence and Authority, the mask hiding his face only added into his intimadating presence, his Crimson eyes gazing into her soul

Yet.. the receptionist remained undettered by his presence, She replied in a Monotone sentence;

' ' Please fill out your name, Magic or Aura level as well as affinity to which element.. ' '

Nathaniel would pause for a moment thinking of a name that could hide his Identity, then.. He remembered something from his past

A name which he once carried in his past, A fire that burned as bright as the sky.. a fire that never ended..

' ' Call me "Sol" if you please. ' '

Sol, the Latin word for the Sun.. the greatest flame of them all, The flame that was now reborn.

' ' I see, "Sol".. You'll be an F-Rank Adventurer the lowest rank of them all.. So you will work your way up. ' '

It seemed like what the receptionist was saying was a rehearsed sentence, thus Nathaniel merely nodded in acknowledgement

' ' Though.. I'd like to know why the streets are empty for a town this size ' '

He'd ask curios as to why the town was silent

With a sigh the Receptionist replied;

' ' There have been multiple bandit attacks here recently. The adventurer's gathered here managed to stop them from raiding the guild and are planning an operation to take them down during their next raid ' '

Hearing this, Nathaniel paused for a bit before replying his tone serious. A town in Atkins being raided.. So blatantly without the lord's protection? This cannot be.

' ' May I join the Raid? ' '

He asked bluntly, his... there was no saying refusing nor declining it.

' ' You may, though we will not be liable for your loss of life. Rewards will be given accordingly to contribution and preformance. ' '

After hearing her explanation, Nathaniel merely nodded before continuing

' ' How much to stay for the night.. ' '

He'd ask referring to the in-built in of Adventuring guilds

' ' That would be 10 Silver a Night. ' '

Nathaniel pondered for a moment.. Calculating in his mind the costs

'One Gold... It's 100 Silver coins.. I have... Around 10 Gold coins thanks to that bandit earlier. Hm.. Why not'

Nathaniel took a piece of gold from his pouch, enough to stay for 10 days.

He gently placed the coin on the desk as he spoke;

' ' 10 days, This includes food right? ' '

The receptionist nodded as she gave him the keys to his room upstairs, with a nod he left entering his room

He slowly dropped off his bag gently making sure not to wake the sleeping wolf inside it

' ' It's cozy enough. ' '

He mumbled to himself looking around the room it has a tidy and cozy atmosphere giving him a sense of safety from the chaotic world outside...

It was silent, silent... even the hordes of adventurer's drinking outside could not penetrate the walls allowing him to rest easy

With a sigh the flaming mask he put on disipated as he laid down, it was the beggining if his journey, and he'd make sure he would make a name for himself.

The raid would merely be his introduction, an oportunity he would not miss

' ' Just like my debut dungeon... I'll slaughter 'em all ' '

Nathaniel said with a smirk raising his hand to the ceiling..
