Prolog : The Beginning After The End

The white ceiling of the hospital was the last thing Edward saw — a workaholic of divine proportions from Jakarta. At just twenty-eight, he had sacrificed everything for his career at a major tech company.

Love? Vacations? A decent night's sleep? All of them were luxuries he had long discarded in exchange for spreadsheets, endless meetings, and an unrelenting ambition.

His death was tragically ironic — not from an accident or a rare disease, but from sheer exhaustion.

His heart gave out after three sleepless nights, ending with a spilled cup of coffee over his worn-out laptop keyboard.

When consciousness returned, he felt warmth enveloping him, the rhythmic sound of a heartbeat, and the strange sensation of being confined.

"Finally, you're here… my child. Your name is Yan Tian," a gentle voice said, filled with relief and tenderness.

Edward — or now, Yan Tian — began to cry. Not the cry of an infant, but of confusion and despair. He knew instantly this wasn't Jakarta. The scent of herbs, aged wood, and comforting heat around him were all proof that he had crossed into another world.

He had been reincarnated.
