The golden light of the morning sun was streaming through the expansive glass window panes when Noah finally stirred from his sleep.
He blinked against the brightness, surprised by the quality of the rest he had managed to get.
Despite the earlier kitchen adventures, he had slept deeply and peacefully until nine in the morning. He spent a few minutes rolling around on the massive, comfortable bed, enjoying the lingering warmth of the blankets before finally forcing himself to sit up.
He stood and gave his body a long, satisfying stretch. After a quick trip to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash the sleep from his eyes, he made his way downstairs.
Noah had fully expected to have the house to himself for a few hours. Given that Adam hadn't returned until four in the morning, Noah assumed the man would be catching up on much-needed rest.
However, as he reached the bottom of the stairs, he was startled to see Adam already seated in the sprawling sitting room.
