Adam let out a weary, defeated sigh as he leaned back in his chair. He looked at Noah across the table and tried to regain a bit of his dignity. "Well, Noah, you will get to my age one day too," he said, hoping that would be the end of it.
Noah didn't even skip a beat as he looked back at him, nodding slowly with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "And by the time I get there, you will still be significantly older than me," he replied.
Adam finally threw his hands up in a gesture of total surrender. He couldn't win this battle of wits, and he knew it. "Can we please, for the love of everything, stop talking about our ages?"
Noah shook his head with a playful stubbornness. "You were the one who started it first, not me."
Adam found himself speechless once again.
He realized that if he wanted to stop Noah from continuing his relentless verbal assault on his seniority, he would have to change the subject entirely.
