Without even asking the man to take off his mask, Callum already knew it was Cliff. He wondered why Cliff had suddenly approached him, even though they had never spoken to each other at important events. Was Cliff planning something that could ruin his and Edith's relationship again? This time, Callum still wouldn't give his girlfriend to an evil man. He kept holding her hand tightly so Cliff couldn't take her.
"I didn't expect you to attend this pointless dance party, Cliff. Usually you really avoid this event."
Cliff removed his mask for a moment. "Your eyes are surprisingly sharp. I admit you're quite skilled at this." His gaze fell on the woman standing next to his enemy. He had already guessed she was his ex-fiancée without having to force the mask off.
"But why didn't you invite a woman to accompany you today? Isn't this a ball where all the guests are supposed to dance?"
