Episode 1 "The Disappearance"

FADE IN:
EXT. GRAVEMONT EVENING
A sleepy town wrapped in fog. Old houses lean close to the cobblestone streets like they're whispering secrets. A faint church bell tolls in the distance.
Crows scatter as headlights cut through the mist.
REHAN KHAN (27) drives down the narrow road, one hand on the wheel, the other holding a bouquet of white lilies.
INT. GREGGY'S HOUSE NIGHT
Soft jazz hums from an old record player. GREGGY TAGARAO (25) hums along while setting the table two plates, candles, wine glasses. She glances at a framed photo of her and Rehan, smiling.
She lights the last candle. A knock at the door.
GREGGY
(cheerful)
Coming!
She opens it Rehan's there, drenched from the drizzle, holding the lilies.
REHAN
Sorry I'm late. Mira cornered me about her ghost stories again.
GREGGY
(laughs)
You mean the one about the "vanishing brides"?
REHAN
Yeah, apparently ten women have gone missing every ten years.
(smirks)
Guess who's next on her suspect list?
GREGGY
You?
REHAN
Us. Because we're getting married during the tenth year.
They laugh, oblivious to the shadow outside watching through the rain-specked window.
EXT. GREGGY'S HOUSE SAME TIME
A faint figure moves near the treeline. The sound of whispering fades in and out like voices carried on the wind.
INT. GREGGY'S HOUSE LATER
Dinner is half-eaten. Rehan and Greggy sit on the couch, surrounded by warmth and candlelight.
GREGGY
(quietly)
Do you ever feel… like this town's watching us?
REHAN
(grins)
That's Gravemont for you. Creepy charm.
GREGGY
No, I mean it. Last night I heard something outside my window.
Like… someone whispering my name.
Rehan sets his glass down.
REHAN
You sure it wasn't the wind?
GREGGY
It said my name, Rehan. Clearly.
Silence. The record player clicks the needle scratching over and over.
Greggy stands, nervous.
REHAN
Hey, hey, it's fine. Probably some prankster. I'll check it out tomorrow.
She nods, uneasy.
EXT. GREGGY'S HOUSE NIGHT (LATER)
Rain pours heavier. Rehan's car is gone. The house stands alone.
Inside, the record has stopped. Candles flicker. Greggy walks toward the window, peering out into the misty woods.
A faint knock.
She freezes.
Another knock, softer.
GREGGY
Rehan?
She walks to the door. Opens it slightly no one there.
Only the fog.
Then… a whisper.
> "Greggy…"
Her breath catches.
She turns slowly toward the hallway mirror. In its reflection something stands behind her.
A tall shadow, just barely visible, like it's stitched from smoke.
She spins around nothing.
She exhales, trembling.
Then the whisper returns this time from inside the mirror.
> "Let me wear you…"
The lights flicker. The mirror ripples like water.
Greggy screams
SMASH CUT TO BLACK.
EXT. GREGGY'S HOUSE NEXT MORNING
Rain has stopped. The front door is half open.
REHAN steps out of his car, smiling, holding coffee.
REHAN
(cheerfully)
Rise and shine, lazyhead.
No answer.
He steps inside. The candles are melted to nothing. The record still spins, silent.
A broken wine glass glitters on the floor.
REHAN
Greggy?
He walks down the hallway. The mirror she looked into last night
shattered.
On the wall beside it, scratched into the plaster:
> EVERY TEN YEARS."
Rehan's hand trembles. He backs away, breathing hard.
Outside, a faint wind whispers his name.
> Rehan…
He turns
No one's there.
The camera pulls back, rising above the town as morning fog curls through the streets like smoke.
