We attacked it.
Properly. Earnestly. With optimism that lasted a whole five seconds.
Zeref went first, fire spiraling around his arm as he launched a compressed flame burst straight at the salamander's head.
The impact exploded into blue sparks against its scales.
Nothing.
Not reduced damage. Not "resisted."
Just… nothing.
"…Did it blink?" Zeref muttered.
Kael followed up, vanishing in a blur and reappearing at its flank. Twin daggers struck in perfect sequence. Weak point. Joint. Under-scale angle. Clean assassin form.
Clink.
The sound was offensive. Like tapping a mountain with cutlery.
Keiji slammed his staff down. Ice erupted from the ground, spears and chains trying to lock the salamander's limbs in place.
The frost crawled up its body for half a second before evaporating on contact with its natural heat.
The salamander didn't even bother roaring.
It inhaled.
I felt it before I saw it. Mana pressure compressing. Heat condensing.
"MOVE!" I yelled.
