Chapter 143: Crossing the Calm Belt
Less than an hour after entering the Calm Belt, they were attacked by several giant sea kings.
"Roar~!" The giant sea kings let out a thunderous roar, swimming towards them, their enormous bodies much larger than the Unafraid.
"Ahh!" The civilians on the ship held their heads, striking poses similar to the famous painting "The Scream," their faces twisted in identical arcs of terror.
"Come at me!" Esdeath drew the sword Eric had given her the previous day, the "Esdeath," and, using the Moonwalk she had learned from CP0, rushed towards the sea king with a horn on its head.
"Take this!" The Western-style sword "Esdeath" gleamed with a metallic white light under the sun, its sharp tip stabbing into the tip of the sea king's horn.
"Roar!" The immense force reached the sea king's body, triggering its wild instincts. It tried to throw the tiny human away with a headbutt.
"The horn is tough, and the strength is immense, but that's all. At most, it's just a giant wild beast." Esdeath once again used the Moonwalk to leap into the air. "Watch me split you in two!"
A blue sword aura was slashed out by Esdeath, cutting through the sea king's body.
The massive sea king, over a thousand meters long, stopped moving immediately, a straight line of blood appeared where the sword aura passed, and its head fell into the sea.
The massive blood pressure of the sea king sprayed blood into the air, creating a rain of blood. Even Esdeath, who was walking on the Moonwalk high in the air, could not avoid being soaked in blood.
"Blood Asura." The ordinary people on the ship, witnessing Esdeath in this bloody state, swallowed hard and muttered words they could only think of, describing Esdeath as a blood Asura in battle.

Four massive ice spears formed beneath Esdeath's feet, shooting towards the heads of the sea kings.

Three of the sea kings had their heads pierced by the massive spears, freezing in place, while one with sharp teeth bit through the ice spear aimed at it.
"Roar!" The sea king roared at Esdeath, with a foul-smelling breath that reached Esdeath's face.
"Not bad. A battle where the opponent is defeated with one move is boring to me! Only hunting prey like you brings fun to the hunt!"
"White Ice Spike!" This time, instead of creating many small ice spikes, Esdeath formed fewer but much larger ones.
The former were for attacking humans, while the latter were for dealing with the massive sea kings.
"Shh, shh, shh," the sound of sharp blades piercing flesh was heard.
"Roar!" The sea king, covered in ice spikes, howled in pain as blood flowed from its body.
"Final blow, Hailstorm Strike!" Esdeath, who enjoyed a rough fighting style, smashed a massive ice block onto the sea king's head, pinning it against the ice layer on the sea, rendering it immobile.
"Meat..."
Akame, after seeing Esdeath slay five sea kings, immediately grabbed a large kitchen knife from the kitchen and jumped into the sea to swim toward the corpses.
"Are you so eager for the meat, really?" Kurumi, who now had a refined lady's demeanor, was displeased by Akame's childish actions, wondering when their alliance would finally defeat the great demon queen Esdeath.

Suddenly, a massive impact came from below the ice, and as the vibrations intensified, the ice cracked. A giant fish head, biting onto a sea king's corpse, burst through the ice.
The size was indescribable, its body far beyond what could be comprehended. The part that emerged from the sea was less than a third of its total body length, yet it was already much larger than the previous sea king.
"Fire!"
Six cannon shots rang out, launching high-explosive shells toward the giant sea king as it fed.
The shells, capable of destroying naval ships, were nothing against such a huge creature, only breaking its skin.
"Ah~"
Though the explosion was harmless, the super giant sea king turned its attention back to the Unafraid, the ship daring to attack it.
Eric looked at the sea king with such powerful defense and muttered to himself, "If it were a target that couldn't fight back, I could test my weapons and techniques."
"Shh, shh, shh." The ice spikes, which had easily harmed regular sea kings, lost their effect on the super giant sea king. They stuck to its body like toothpicks.
"Ah!" The enormous head of the sea king released the sea king's corpse in its mouth and charged at Esdeath, the closest target.
"Ice Pillars!" Several ten-meter-wide ice pillars formed and slammed into the approaching sea king.
The thick ice pillars, massive in human eyes, shattered the moment they came into contact with the sea king.
"The power is so immense, it ignores so many issues." After saying this, Scáthach transformed into a red lightning bolt, charging at the sea king. She had never fought such a massive enemy before.
A huge shadow covered the ice beneath them. Esdeath grabbed Akame, who was by the pile of meat, and used the Moonwalk to dodge the massive impact.
The previously solid ice surface shattered under the super giant sea king's force, and the area they stood on vanished in an instant.
"Meat!" Akame reached out for the large chunks of meat that had fallen into the sea.
Akame's normally calm gaze suddenly flared with fire. "Throw me at this sea king."
Esdeath, understanding her intent, threw Akame, creating several ice platforms in the air for her to step on.
Akame stepped on the ice blocks in midair, running toward the super giant sea king...
