Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: Threads of Fate

After the sun had set behind the blazing horizon of Lumeria, Noha felt her heart heavy between the desire to escape and the duty imposed by her noble class. In her grand chamber, where everything was polished and arranged to the point of coldness, she sat on her silk-covered chair, struck by a wave of longing for the freedom she had never known.

She remembered that scene in the street: the small bakery, the warm light, the boy working with his hands among the dough and the oven, his laughter like a light in the midst of poverty, his blond hair and smile whose reason no one yet knew. A strange feeling stirred in her heart — a mix of admiration, curiosity, and amazement, as if something in her closed world longed to know more.

Noha looked down toward the lower districts, where gold and silk could not reach, only ordinary people living, laughing, and crying without palaces or columns. She felt a strong desire to get closer to that world, even if just a little glimpse, a window into a life she had never lived.

But the return of her mother's sharp voice to the chamber reminded her of the truth of her life: her marriage to Sky, a man who held no heart for appreciation, who would bind her with the chains of nobility, leaving no space for her freedom or her feelings.

Noha sat near her window, gazing at the city at night, the dim lights of the bakery sparkling like stars on the ground, feeling that something there, something alive, might change her heart if she ever found the courage to approach it.

She whispered to herself, "It's not just my life… but my heart… I will not lie to it."

And so, with every night the sun disappeared, every scene reminding her of the boy in the bakery, Noha's heart became captivated by something new, a feeling she had never experienced before, a feeling that might lead her into a world completely different from her gilded palace life.
