Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Mo Clan’s Secret Art · Azure Scale Dragon Claw!

Chapter 98: Mo Clan's Secret Art · Azure Scale Dragon Claw!

Jiang Lin had already come up with an idea for the core insulating material for the Dou Crystal.

Fate was truly on his side, not playing tricks on him. The Magic Beast Mountain Range was a treasure trove, and his birthplace was perfect. Wutan City beside him constantly refreshed its technology, while the nearby Magic Beast Range kept supplying new materials—allowing Jiang Lin to rise in the early stages without wasting time searching for resources or techniques.

"Thanks for the info about Jia Nan Academy, everyone. Once things settle down, I'll be sure to check it out," Jiang Lin said gratefully. As the long night dragged on, they all gathered around the campfire.

"No need to thank us! You'd learn about it eventually at the Blacksmith Guild anyway," Mu Yun said cheerfully. After spending several days with Jiang Lin, he found him quite easy to get along with.

"By the way, does the Amethyst Winged Lion King really have a special ability to seal Dou Qi?" Jiang Lin asked as he poked the fire, returning to the topic Mu Yun had casually mentioned earlier.

Mu Yun shook his head. "I only heard it from other mercenaries at the Guild. I don't know the details. That's a Tier-Six magical beast—we wouldn't dare confirm it firsthand."

Mu Yun had mentioned in casual conversation that he'd heard rumors from mercs in other regions claiming the Amethyst Winged Lion King might have the ability to seal Dou Qi. It only came to mind now because they were circling the Magic Beast Mountains, where one such lion supposedly lived.

Amethyst Winged Lions were a species; there were definitely more than one. The one here, however, had reached Tier Six and was revered as a "King."

"Oh, I was just curious," Jiang Lin nodded, though in truth, the urge to sneak into the lion's lair was already growing.

I've seen a younger Amethyst Lion in the inner regions. Probably the offspring. Once I improve my movement skills, maybe I'll pay the king's den a little visit…

After years of roaming the Magic Beast Range, Jiang Lin knew it like the back of his hand. Apart from the very core, he had left his footprints everywhere.

Magical beasts weren't like humans—their Dou Qi was much more violent, making them terrible at concealing their presence. To Jiang Lin's spiritual perception, they were like giant glowing beacons. That's how he had survived for so long.

And the Amethyst Winged Lion King? Its aura lit up the other side of a mountain like a searchlight. If he found a secret technique for concealment, combined with his "full-map boss detection," he might really go slap its butt one day.

"But for now… what I'm more curious about is Miss Mo Lan's right hand. It seems a bit… inconvenient, doesn't it?" Jiang Lin shifted topics. He wasn't about to tell anyone about his lion-slap ambitions. What if they tied him down to stop him?

Suppressing his excitement, Jiang Lin turned to Mo Lan, his gaze focused on her right hand beneath her robe.

"..." Mu Yun and the others exchanged looks, unsure how to respond. Finally, Mo Lan extended her hand openly. "It's not some shameful secret. Master Jiang Lin will hear about it at the Guild anyway."

In the firelight, her right hand was not human. Instead, it was a skinny, terrifying dragon claw covered in bluish-green scales.

"A top-tier Tier-Three sub-dragon beast arm—Azure Scale Earth Dragon?" Jiang Lin's reaction shocked everyone. He didn't show disgust or fear—just pure surprise and curiosity, as if he were looking at a rare treasure!

"...Indeed, Master Jiang Lin is well-informed. It is the right arm of an Azure Scale Earth Dragon," Mo Lan replied, momentarily dazed. She had expected disgust, or at least unease—if not from Jiang Lin's face, then from his eyes. But there was none of that. In fact… was that eagerness?

It reminded her of Mo Cheng, the Grand Elder of her clan, who always looked at her like that—though his gaze made her feel violated.

But Jiang Lin's didn't. She couldn't explain why. If anything, his lacked aggression or possessiveness. It felt… respectful?

"Did your arm get injured?" Jiang Lin asked, reaching out and gently touching her dragon claw.

"If it's something else, you'd need a doctor. But for this kind of problem? I'm the best healer you could ask for."

"You've got three meridians here that weren't properly connected—no, it's not that. Human arms lack those meridians. The dragon arm has them, but you don't. So the guy who operated on you couldn't connect them," Jiang Lin said, inspecting her joints and lightly pressing a few spots.

"Ow—" Mo Lan flinched from the pain.

"The blood vessels don't match either. Even if they were sewn together with special methods, your blood can't properly nourish this dragon limb. That's why it's slowly withering. These blood vessels? Different sizes. The blocked flow is what causes the pain."

Under Mu Yun's team's stunned gaze, Jiang Lin moved like a master physician, diagnosing Mo Lan's condition with just a few casual touches and detailed insight.

"Remember these pressure points. Massage them regularly to improve blood flow. That'll ease the pain and slow the decay," he said, pulling out a red brush and marking seven red dots on her arm.

He always carried pen and paper—just a habit of his.

"The one who developed this technique is impressive. Giving new life to someone with a severed limb… quite the achievement." Jiang Lin rubbed his chin and gave her arm a fair evaluation.

"..." Mo Lan opened her mouth but found no words. She stared at Jiang Lin, who had completely misunderstood the nature of her condition, and was too stunned to correct him.

"I'll be staying at the Guild for a while. Don't stray too far. I'll see if I can reattach it properly. If you have documents or references from your clan about this technique, even better. That would save a lot of time."
