Ezreal was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "Your plight is indeed sympathetic, but unfortunately, even if you all team up, you are no match for Deliora after it's unsealed."
Ezreal pointed at the four people opposite him, his tone very serious. "An A-Class Mage and three B-Rank Mages of ordinary skill. If Deliora could be defeated so easily, perhaps there wouldn't be so many people living with such pain."
Lyon had calmed down by now. He could tell from Ezreal's tone that this blond young man harbored no ill will towards them.
He looked calmly at Ezreal. "The ice that sealed Deliora was an Ice Magic cast by my master, Ur, with her life—Absolute Zero! This is a sealing magic."
"But Deliora isn't dead yet."
"If it's a seal, it can be broken. If one day Deliora breaks free, it will kill even more people..."
The icy blue light in Lyon's eyes slowly extinguished, and he lost some of his spirit. "Then Master's death would have been meaningless. Deliora would create more disasters, destroy more people's homes, and cause new pain."
"If that day truly comes, that kind-hearted, foolish woman, who used Ice Magic, would be very sad."
"It's been eight years."
"My greatest wish was once to become a powerful Mage, surpassing Ur, but now Master has been dead for eight years, having sacrificed herself to protect us."
"These past eight years, I've been woken countless times by nightmares. Deliora, unsealed, wreaking havoc, the land scarred, people wailing and crying in the ruins of cities."
"For me now, completely defeating Deliora is my only wish."
"To avenge the deceased, and to ensure no one else loses their loved ones to Deliora, I must defeat Deliora and make it die forever. Even if it means sacrificing everything, I don't care."
Lyon slowly recounted the entire truth, his tone and expression calm.
Three hands rested on Lyon's shoulders at that moment.
Lyon froze for a moment, his eyes slightly red, but he resisted turning around.
The Pink-haired Girl, the blue-haired man, and the Dog-eared man all remained silent, but their eyes were firm as they looked at Lyon's back, each placing a hand on the white-haired young man's shoulder.
From the hands of the three, Lyon must have felt more than just warmth at that moment.
Ezreal looked at the four people opposite him and fell silent. He thought to himself, "Sure enough, this is too different from the original anime!"
Fortunately, after the Laxus incident, he had kept his guard up and hadn't just rushed in.
The anime's length is limited, so it's impossible to explain every character and event clearly.
In the original work, many events and conflicts seemed a bit absurd.
This Galuna Island arc was one of many such absurdities.
In the original anime, it was written that Lyon chose to unseal Deliora to prove that his strength had surpassed his master, Ur.
If that were the only motive, Ezreal was quite sure that Lyon shouldn't have such loyal subordinates.
Where would you find a chuunibyou who could gather so many people?
And all of them were fiercely loyal.
Did they think everyone was Liu Xuande?
This just didn't make sense!
So Ezreal harbored doubts, which led to his initial questions.
And Lyon's explanation successfully cleared up his confusion.
Was Lyon's explanation reasonable?
Extremely reasonable!
This completely matched up!
These four people were absolutely righteous characters.
Overflowing with positive energy!
To prevent Deliora from breaking the seal and causing more disaster one day, they chose to unseal it prematurely and completely resolve the Ice Demon.
Although it was a bit overambitious.
Their actions were definitely good.
Moreover, Ezreal had just sensed that Deliora, currently frozen, had most of its life force drained by Absolute Zero and was now on its last breath.
Even if it were truly unsealed and released, in its dying state, Deliora would barely be at an A+ level. Lyon would definitely have no chance in a 1v1 fight.
But he also had three helpers and a bunch of subordinates. If they ganged up, it was quite possible Lyon and his group could defeat it.
Seeing Ezreal fall silent, the four people opposite him said nothing more.
The cave fell silent for a moment.
After a long while, Ezreal looked at Lyon and the others and softly asked, "Lyon, have you learned Absolute Zero?"
Lyon looked at Ezreal in surprise, thought for a moment, and replied, "I've studied it, but only from a magic book. Ur never taught me. Ur said it's a magic that requires the caster to sacrifice their life, so I didn't continue practicing."
Ezreal nodded slightly. "That makes sense then."
Immediately after, Ezreal asked again, "You probably don't know much about this magic, do you?"
Lyon frowned slightly. Although he wasn't sure why Ezreal was asking, he still nodded.
"That's right. Back then, I had just learned the casting process for the magic and hadn't had a chance to use it before Ur knocked me out. Later, when I woke up, Ur had already cast Absolute Zero to seal Deliora."
"I didn't practice Absolute Zero afterward. This forbidden magic, which requires a life as a cost, is prone to serious problems if practiced alone. This life of mine was exchanged by Ur with her own life, and I must cherish it until I defeat Deliora. Only then will I be worthy of her."
After Lyon finished speaking, his tone paused, as if he had thought of something. He glanced at Deliora in the ice, then turned his gaze back to Ezreal's eyes and asked, "Do you know something?"
Ezreal smiled, his tone becoming serious. "I'm someone who enjoys reading. Regarding Absolute Zero, I've read relevant documented information. It's an incredibly powerful sealing magic. Although it requires the caster to sacrifice their life, soul, and magic power, the caster doesn't actually die, but rather transforms into a state of ice."
"Furthermore, this magic has an interesting aspect: any life form frozen by Absolute Zero will have its life force continuously eroded by the ice until it is completely killed."
Ezreal pointed behind him at Deliora in its frozen state. "From my observation, if nothing unexpected happens, Deliora will exhaust all of its life force in about half a year and completely die under your master Ur's Absolute Zero."
Lyon was stunned, while the three people behind him showed joyful expressions.
The Pink-haired Girl stepped forward, asking excitedly, "Is what you're saying really true?"
The blue-haired man was also excited but maintained his composure. "How can you prove what you're saying is true?"
The Dog-eared man was whimpering and crying, his large eyes filled with tears.
