Destiny could hardly believe how much she had written over fifty thousand words in just two days. Her heart swelled with pride as she hit submit on her contract application to the writing platform. Now, all she could do was wait.
To distract herself, Destiny decided to prepare dinner early before her ex-in-laws returned from work. She wanted everything to be perfect both the meal and her thoughts.
As she chopped vegetables and stirred the soup, her mind kept drifting back to the email she had sent. Would they accept her contract? Would her dream of becoming a paid writer finally begin?
The aroma of spices soon filled the house, and just as she finished setting the table, her ex-in-laws walked through the door.
"Something smells delicious," her ex-mother-in-law said, smiling warmly.
"Welcome back," Destiny greeted cheerfully. "Dinner's ready!"
Over the meal, Destiny shared her excitement about her writing progress and told them about the contract she had applied for.
"You don't need to worry, my dear," her ex-father-in-law said confidently. "It's already done. You're getting that contract."
Destiny smiled shyly. "Thank you, sir."
His words lifted a heavy weight from her shoulders. She began to believe really believe that it could happen.
Dinner flowed with laughter, encouragement, and peace. Afterward, Destiny cleared the table, feeling a deep sense of gratitude for the family who stood by her through everything.
Later that night, as she settled into bed, her phone buzzed. Her heart raced as she glanced at the screen an email from the platform.
Hands trembling, she opened it.
Her eyes widened as she read: "Congratulations! Your contract application has been approved."
Destiny gasped, covering her mouth in disbelief. Tears welled in her eyes as joy and relief washed over her. Every late night, every word she had written it had all been worth it.
The email included the contract details and her first payment a signing bonus of $100, with monthly payments to follow. Destiny's heart soared.
She couldn't wait to share the news.
She immediately called Cynthia.
"Hello, Cynthia! You won't believe this I've been accepted! My contract was approved!" Destiny exclaimed breathlessly.
"Oh my God!" Cynthia squealed. "I knew it! I told you you'd make it through!"
"This wouldn't have been possible without you," Destiny said, her voice trembling with emotion. "You're a blessing, Cynthia. I'll never forget this."
"It's fine, babe," Cynthia replied, smiling through the phone. "I'm just so happy for you."
"Thank you," Destiny whispered. "Take care, love."
After ending the call, she hurried downstairs to tell her ex-in-laws. They were overjoyed and congratulated her warmly.
"We knew you'd make it happen!" her ex-father-in-law said proudly.
Destiny then called her brother, who celebrated the news with laughter and encouragement.
The night was filled with joy and gratitude. For the first time, Destiny felt like she was truly stepping into her destiny.
The next morning, Destiny woke up with renewed energy. As she walked downstairs, she overheard her ex-in-laws discussing their shop.
"We'll need about fifty dollars to restock," her ex-mother-in-law said softly. "Business has been slow lately."
Destiny paused, remembering the $100 she had just received. Without a second thought, she approached them.
"Mom, Dad, I'd like to help with the shop," she said gently. "Please take this it's the least I can do."
They were speechless.
"Oh no, my dear, you don't have to " her ex-mother-in-law began, but Destiny shook her head.
"Please. Don't worry about paying me back. We're family, and you've supported me so much. Let me do this."
Her ex-father-in-law's eyes glistened. "May God bless you, Destiny. You have a good heart."
"This is nothing compared to all you've done for me," she replied sincerely.
The room filled with emotion. That simple act of kindness drew them even closer together. They laughed, shared hugs, and offered prayers of blessing over Destiny and her unborn child.
Later, Destiny prepared breakfast scrambled eggs, toast, and hot coffee. The comforting aroma filled the kitchen.
"My dear, your food keeps getting better every day," her ex-mother-in-law said with a smile.
They ate together, sharing stories and laughter a perfect start to the day.
After breakfast, Destiny returned to her desk. The sunlight streamed through the window as she opened her laptop. Words began to flow effortlessly, dancing across the screen. Her creativity felt endless, inspired by gratitude and love.
Hours passed like minutes. Destiny's story grew richer, her characters more alive. Writing no longer felt like work it was her heartbeat.
By evening, she leaned back in her chair, satisfied and proud.
Her dreams were finally unfolding one chapter at a time.
As she rested her hand on her baby bump, she smiled softly. "Are you proud of mommy?"
A tiny kick answered her, and she laughed through her tears.
"Yes," she whispered, "we did it."
That night, Destiny slept peacefully her heart full, her path clear. The doors of opportunity had opened, and she was ready to walk through them.
