Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: The Angel Expelled from the Church

Questions like: How can it be her? And, how does she know my name? Were being asked in Rito's mind as he looked at the beautiful girl wearing nun's clothes.

But, he couldn't just recognize her, so he disguised: "Yes, I am Rito Yuki and you are...?"

With broken Japanese, she speaks with an Italian accent: "My name is Asia Argento. I came from Italy to walk in the church - Sir?"

"One moment please." Rito gestured with his hand.

Using the purple orb, he took his smartphone and after accessing the internet, he quickly analyzed the Italian alphabet and then read a book that said: Learn to speak Italian in one day.

His comprehension became so high that in a matter of minutes, he learned a new language.

And, the book didn't lie, he indeed learned Italian in one day.

"Cof, let's start over." He asked: "Let me see if I understood, you came from Italy to Japan because you were sent to help in the church of this city, correct?"

"You can speak in Italian, Sir?" She seemed radiant as she clasped her hands and said: "And, yes, exactly that."

His appearance already draws attention and being with a beautiful girl wearing nun's clothes made them stand out even more.

With the smartphone in hand, he sent a message to Mikan and Lala.

"Asia, right?" He averted his gaze from the smartphone, asking: "How about we go to that Cafeteria and talk a bit?"

She replied with a gentle and sweet smile: "Yes, I'm fine with that."

Then she followed him to the Cafeteria.

"Welcome."

Rito led her to a table for four people.

"Here, sit down." He pulled out a chair for her.

Nodding, she says: "Such manners."

After she sat down, Rito sits in front of her: "Let's start... How did you know who I am... You even knew my name?"

"About that." She smiled as if remembering something: "While I was still in Italy, I ended up helping a woman a little. After helping her, she offered me a coffee and we talked a bit and that's when she spoke about her two children and showed me some photos. Her name was... Ringo Yuki."

"I see... You met my mother." Rito understood everything now.

"Yes." She smiled, but then wanted to clear her doubt: "Sir, how were you suddenly able to speak Italian?"

"About that..." Rito saw the waitress stop beside him, after placing the orders, he replied to Asia: "I learned it just now through the internet."

"In just a few minutes? That's incredible!" She exclaimed, clasping her hands in admiration.

"Rito, we're here!"

At the same time, Lala and Mikan arrive at the place.

When Lala and Mikan approached, Asia who looked at them, stood up and bowed a little while saying with a sweet smile: "Hello, I am Asia Argento."

"Hello, my name is Lala!" Lala replied excitedly.

"Mikan Yuki." She adapted quickly even seeing her wearing nun's clothes and turned to Rito: "What's happening?"

"Exactly what I said in the messages." He replied: "When I left the clothing store I ran into this nun. She recognized me and one thing led to another and now we're here."

He had already stood up and pulled out a chair for Lala to sit closer to him.

"Errr... Am I interrupting?" Asia seemed to be having trouble.

"No, you're not." Mikan managed to speak Italian perfectly: "Sorry about that, I ended up making you misunderstand something."

"No, no, I apologize." Asia replied.

"Okay." Rito clapped: "Let's eat something first and talk."

Mikan looked at him and nodded while sitting on the left end with her back to the window.

The waitress came with a silver tray bringing the orders he had made earlier.

They were four parfaits.

"Enjoy your meal." Bowing with a simple smile, the waitress left as soon as she placed the parfaits on the table.

"It looks delicious~" Lala sang cheerfully as she picked up the silver spoon.

"Is it okay for me to accept this?" Asia asked.

"Yes, you can eat." Rito nodded.

"Thank you, Mr. Rito." She thanked politely before picking up the spoon.

While they ate, Rito explained better what happened and Asia's situation.

"So... She was sent to this city to help with the church, but the only church that existed in this city was an abandoned one and it was destroyed." Mikan said.

"Destroyed? How can that be..." Asia seemed troubled.

"Asia."

"Yes?"

Rito spoke in a grave tone: "Those who were in that abandoned church were a gang of heretics and fallen angel traitors. It's just my assumption, but you were also deceived by one of them?"

"So it was all a lie?" She seemed a bit shaken.

"Rito!" Mikan glared at him.

"Mikan, she was going to find out about this sooner or later." Rito said.

"But, but there are better ways to deliver news like that, right?" She sighed and looked gently at Asia: "Asia, if you have nowhere to go, you can stay at our house. As our mother's savior, we can't leave you without a home."

"How kind, but I don't want to impose..." Asia replied a bit pale.

"It's okay, you won't be a bother." Mikan assured.

"This..." She looked at Rito and then at Lala.

"Me?" Lala stopped eating and smiled at her: "It's fine by me."

"I'm in agreement too." Although things were developing in a strange direction he hadn't expected, it wasn't so bad.

"How kind can you be? This must also be God placing you in my path while I was in trouble." She smiled.

"How cute..." Mikan murmured.

"Huh?" Feeling Mikan's gaze, Asia tilted her head curiously.

"By the way, have you finished buying the clothes?" Rito asked, before adding with a smile: "Ah, Lala, I almost forgot to say... you look stunning in that outfit!"

"Really? Hehe, thank you!" She smiled.

She was dressed in a sleeveless red blouse, loose with elastic that cinched around the waist and a matching red skirt.

The double braids made her particularly adorable.

The conversation progressed and Asia talked a bit about herself.

"This is unbelievable!" Mikan, who had been lightly introduced to the supernatural, wasn't surprised by what she heard, but rather by the content of the conversation. She seemed angry at those who expelled Asia from the church: "How can they do that after everything you did for the church?"

"But... It must all be God's plan. I believe everything has its reasons." Asia clasped her hands.

"Wait a bit, I'll investigate!" Lala picked up her smartphone, after it transformed into a flip phone, she typed and made a laptop appear.

With nimble fingers, she typed on the laptop keys at an incredible speed.

A few minutes later, she found what she wanted.

At the sound of a key, she said: "Here it is! Let me see..."

Her expression changed with the content she was reading.

"Asia, you were deceived!" She seemed a bit angry, which was rare.

"What did you find, Lala?" Mikan was curious.

"See." Lala let Mikan read.

Nothing escaped her.

From the church accepting money from a Devil named Diodora Astaroth, to even setting up Asia and expelling her.

Not only that, she got complete information on the actions of Diodora Astaroth, like how he liked to deceive innocent nuns and then corrupt them and turn them into Devils.

"Trash!!" Mikan slammed her fist hard on the table.

"What happened?" Asia seemed to be having trouble understanding what happened.

Rito read the content while Mikan also read, although she already knew all this, it was still revolting.

"About this..."

Seeing Mikan's distress, obviously unable to decide whether she should or shouldn't tell the truth to Asia, Rito said: "She deserves to know the truth."

"What truth?" Asia was still confused.

"Are you sure, Rito?" Mikan didn't seem sure of herself.

Lala said nothing, but waited for Rito's confirmation.

"Yes, I am." He replied: "It's better she knows. And if he approaches her trying to deceive her, pretending to be a poor devil who was saved by her, have you thought about that?"

"You're right!" Mikan was enlightened.

"Asia." Then, she held Asia's hands over the table: "Calm down and prepare for what you're going to discover. I just want you to know that although we don't know each other, we'll be by your side, okay?"

"Okay?" She tilted her head, confused, but still nodded.

When the laptop was turned to her and Asia started reading the content of what Lala discovered, even having photos, her face lost color.

"It can't be..." She didn't seem to believe it.

"That's the truth." Mikan said: "Asia, didn't you ever find it strange? Why the people you healed didn't feel grateful, but instead excluded you?"

"... But, they took me in when I was abandoned." She murmured.

"There are things that help us, without having a real intention to help us, Asia." Rito said in a deep tone.

A good example was Lacospo who in a way helped him a lot even without having that intention.

Rito looks at Lala.

As much as he knew, seeing her in action personally, he rediscovered how amazing his fiancée was. In minutes she got several pieces of information on this subject, even managed to get evidence that incriminated those who betrayed and used Lala all this time.

The reality was that since Asia awakened the powers of her Sacred Gear, they used her to get rich without her knowing. And, when they had a chance to make even more money at once, they even betrayed her, literally selling her to the Devil.

'They are rotten to the core...' Rito thought.
