Chapter 46 - Battle Vrax vs Helar

Far across the desolate mountain peak, the battle between Vrax and Helar reached its absolute climax.

Realising she was completely outmatched in close combat, Helar unleashed a desperate, suffocating cloud of countless of shadow locusts. The writhing swarm swallowed the sun, completely veiling Vrax's vision in an impenetrable dome of absolute darkness.

"You are blind now, man fool!" Helar cackled hysterically, her voice echoing from all directions within the shadow dome.

Taking advantage of his lost sight, she channelled every drop of her abyssal mana, summoning hundreds of grotesquely misshapen, dark-iron anvils from the depths of the void. The massive, twisted weights rained down from the sky like falling mountains, aimed directly at Vrax's head to crush him into dust.

Yet, Vrax didn't even bother to glance upward.

With an effortless, casual flick of his plain longsword, he struck the first falling anvil. The sheer kinetic shockwave blew the massive weight upward, shattering three other anvils in mid-air. Before the remaining debris could crush him, Vrax burst forward with purely raw, unaugmented physical speed. He dissolved into a dozens of solid speed-images, weaving through the falling mountain of iron so fast that the surrounding air ignited into sparks, utterly staggering Helar's senses.

Vrax materialized right beside her, his sword resting casually on his shoulder as the shadow dome shattered to pieces behind him.

"Is this truly the extent of your power, girl?" Vrax asked quietly, his voice devoid of fatigue.

Helar gritted her teeth, backing away frantically, yet a manic, desperate grin spread across her face. "You cannot kill me, Vrax! You never could! My very soul and life force are anchored to the endless Abyssal Shadows! To reclaim your fragment, you need my soul—and my soul is my life! As long as the abyss exists, I am immortal!"

Vrax merely blinked, stepping forward with unhurried precision while casually dodging a barrage of dark tendrils she fired at him.

"You talk too much," Vrax noted calmly, his eyes inspecting his plain iron weapon—the legendary (Dragon's Blessing) blade. "You misunderstand this sword. Dragon Blessing possesses two absolute authorities: it permanently purifies any curable or incurable affliction from its master, and it completely severs the concept of immortality from any target it strikes."

He looked at her with a chilling, detached gaze. "By your own explanation, your immortality is merely an external spiritual link to the abyss. Which means... I simply have to cut that link.

"Nonsense! That's impossible!" Helar roared in utter fury, her mind breaking under the sheer impossibility of his claim as she unleashed her entire mana reserve in a desperate, final frenzy.
