Chapter 10 - Escape

"Go!"

Wolverine didn't waste any words. He told Gabrielle to call Goku and Laura, then floored the accelerator, speeding out of the factory with everyone.

Next, he was going to have a Fast and Furious race with the other party.

Although Goku was stronger than he imagined, if he didn't have to fight, he still didn't want to fight the other party.

Because on their side, there were still Professor, Caliban, and Gabrielle, who had no combat ability.

One bullet could send them off.

However, what they didn't notice was that as their car sped out of the factory, several small drones were already tracking them from above.

"Commander, they escaped from the abandoned factory."

Five kilometers from the factory, a mercenary in the black convoy reported to the commander, looking at the footage from the drone.

The commander was not surprised in the slightest:

"Adjust course, intercept them!"

He had known that Caliban and Wolverine lived together, so how could he not be wary of Caliban's abilities?

So, before the convoy arrived, he had already sent people to use drones to lock onto the target in advance.

This way, no matter which direction the other party fled, he would know in advance and could change course to intercept them midway.

Moreover, with the speed of Wolverine's extended limousine, it simply couldn't outrun their modified off-road vehicles.

So no matter how the other party fled, they couldn't escape his grasp.

He loved the feeling of cat and mouse.

"Caliban, how is it?"

Wolverine floored the accelerator, speeding north, feeling like he should be able to shake off the Facility's pursuit.

Unfortunately, Caliban's answer was not good:

"They're getting closer and closer, that X-24 is getting closer and closer to us!"

"Impossible!"

Wolverine frowned.

When they left the factory, they didn't see the other party's convoy appear, so the other party couldn't have directly pursued them.

The other party should have first searched the factory, and only after not finding them would they track them north.

Crucially, he wasn't taking the conventional route from Texas to North Dakota, but instead chose to enter the more remote New Mexico.

New Mexico was vast and sparsely populated, making it harder to be discovered.

"Are they still approaching?"

After driving for a while longer, Wolverine asked again.

Caliban nodded with a grim expression.

"Look up, is there anything there?"

At this moment, Professor X spoke.

Professor X, in a conscious state, was still sharp-witted.

After Professor X's reminder, Wolverine immediately realized something. While controlling the steering wheel, he stuck his head out the window and looked up at the sky.

Unfortunately, at this time, due to the erosion of genetically modified food, his eyes were no different from those of an ordinary old man.

He usually needed to wear reading glasses to read newspapers, so how could he clearly see things in the sky?

Fortunately, there was a martial artist with excellent eyesight in the car.

"There are three little iron birds following us in the sky."

Goku stuck his head out the window and immediately spotted the three drones high in the sky.

Everyone's expressions changed upon hearing this, clearly understanding why they couldn't shake off the pursuers.

However, even knowing that there were drones tracking them in the sky, they had no way to deal with it.

After all, it was difficult to take down agile drones with just handguns.

They hadn't prepared any weapons like sniper rifles or anything similar.

Even if they had, no one would be good at using them.

Gabrielle was just a nurse, Wolverine had presbyopia and was only good at close combat, Caliban was physically weak due to albinism, and Professor was a disabled person.

And Goku and Laura, two children, did you expect them to use a sniper rifle?

"Can you shoot them down?"

Professor looked at Goku with a gentle expression.

As someone most skilled at developing and training mutants, he saw some hope in Goku's extraordinary eyesight and powerful physique.

He thought that if Goku threw things at the drones in the sky with all his might, there was a certain chance he could smash them down.

"Shoot them down? That's very simple."

Goku nodded.

However, he didn't solve the drones in the sky by throwing things as Professor X had expected, but instead drew out the stick he had been carrying on his back.

"Extend, Power Pole!"

Under everyone's disbelieving gazes, the stick in Goku's hand rapidly extended, reaching a height level with the drones.

Then, Goku vigorously swung the stick a few times, and the three monitoring drones were instantly blown up in mid-air.

Let alone drones, even a real fighter jet, Goku's strength could blow it up.

"That stick... what's going on?"

At the same time, in the pursuing convoy, the commander stared at the static-filled screen, also stunned on the spot.

It was the first time he had seen a stick that could extend. What material had such good ductility?

"Good stuff, really good stuff!"

Meanwhile, Dr. Rice, sitting next to him, showed a surprised expression.

That stick was clearly made of special material. If he could understand it through research, it would definitely be of great help to his future experiments.

Imagine Wolverine's claws, suddenly extending from fifty centimeters to a meter during combat, able to retract and extend freely. How powerful would that be?

"Catch them, we must catch them!"

"Don't worry, Dr., the distance is already very close. Even without drone surveillance, we can still lock onto them."

The commander said confidently.

In a plain area, without any obstacles, there were too many ways to pursue a car carrying people.

Even without drones, as long as the distance wasn't too far, they could lock onto the position.

Sure enough, in less than ten minutes, they saw the figure of the extended limousine speeding wildly.

"Let's give them a taste of a Rocket launcher first."

A playful look appeared at the corner of the commander's mouth.

Even if a Rocket hit, it wouldn't kill Wolverine, X-23, and that mutant boy, but it could destroy their vehicle.

As for Professor X, Caliban, and Gabrielle, if they died, they died; they had no value anyway.

And killing Professor X in advance could also prevent Professor X from having an attack and threatening them.

In the convoy, a mercenary strongman stood up from the back of a pickup truck, set up the Rocket launcher, and aimed it at the increasingly close extended limousine ahead.

"Oh no, they're going to use a Rocket launcher!"

At this moment, Wolverine saw the increasingly close pursuing convoy in his rearview mirror and spotted the Rocket launcher already aimed at them.

To avoid being targeted, he had to constantly turn the steering wheel, using evasive maneuvers to avoid being locked on.

However, this caused the car's speed to drop significantly, and the pursuing convoy got even closer.

The closer the distance, the easier it was to aim, making it difficult to dodge even with serpentine movements.

"Boom!"

The Rocket launcher fired, and a Rocket flew straight towards the car.

At this moment, Wolverine realized in despair that he would most likely not be able to dodge this Rocket.

The distance between them was less than three hundred meters, and an extended limousine was inherently less agile than a regular car, making it even harder to dodge...
