Blanche's POV
That evening after work, I drove back to Blissfield Villa. Zain had been playing games with me that morning, claiming he was swamped when we both knew he was just trying to make my life difficult.
I couldn't sit still while Quinton and Amber's situation hung in the balance. This mess needed fixing, and fast.
Heidi's face went white with shock when she saw me walk through the door, but she kept her mouth shut.
"Mrs. Jacob, what can I prepare for dinner?" Heidi asked, her voice carefully respectful.
She still treated me with the deference due to Zain's wife, at least.
I waved her off. "Don't bother. I'm just waiting for Zain to get home."
Heidi nodded and left me alone.
The evening wore on. No sign of Zain or his entourage.
Neither Zain nor Carry had shown up.
After waiting for what felt like hours, my patience was wearing thin.
