"Actually... I have a favor to ask of you."
Liera had tilted her head, her heart skipping a beat. It was the first time Verona had looked at her not just as a sister to protect, but as an ally to trust. "Anything, Verona. What is it?"
"I need you to look around the library at the manor," Verona had said, her fingers tracing the edge of the fountain's basin. "I need you to find every scrap of information you can about someone, or something, called Iora."
Liera's brow had furrowed. "Iora?"
"Yes, the one who helped me to rewind time," Verona replied. "She is a guardian spirit, an elemental being who is said to live within a stone. I've searched every archive I could reach in the North, but there is nothing. I suspect the records were kept in the South, specifically by Duke Vernhardt."
Liera had felt a chill then, even in the Southern heat. "You think she's real? A spirit living in a stone?"
