Chapter 4 - Jailyn

"Don't listen to them." A random text said at 3 AM today.

I got up, got my t-shirt and black cargo pants on. I turned to the clock: 6:34. Good enough time to get up.

I sometimes wondered what it was like to have so many friends, they all either love and look up to you or they loathe and gossip about you.

I hate that.

I sometimes talk to Jailyn. He's pretty cool. He's the only one that would talk about her. He's two years older than me, but I see him sometimes. We hadn't talked in a few months, so I was surprised by his text so early.

I did the worst possible thing I could've done.

I called him.

"U-Uhm, hey." I spoke quickly the second he answered, not wanting him to talk first.

I jumped at a loud sobbing sound. Goodness, I'm terrible at comforting people.

"H-Hey…" Jailyn spoke quietly in between deep breaths. "D-Do you ever miss Lena so much that you just… wonder what happened?" His voice calmed a bit.

"Well, I've been trying to figure that out for years now, except her room's locked. I vote Villian did something. She was always so jealous of me, I guess she just had to have me to herself with Lena gone." I spoke matter-of-factly. I smiled slightly when I heard a sad laugh come through the other end of the phone.

"Y-yeah, you are pretty amazing." I could hear the smile through the phone, and I laughed slightly.

"I think someone was in her room." His voice lowered, back to an almost scared tone.

"So do I. Hey, want to meet at Darla's at 7? We can chat there." I asked, wanting to talk in person, worried about who might be listening.

So, the plan was set. We'd figure out what happened to Lena, and avenge her once and for all.
