Daniel's brows knitted together. "Prophecy?" he repeated, as though he wanted to make sure he had heard Osborne correctly. Genuine confusion clouded his eyes. The word felt both familiar and strangely foreign.
He searched through the depths of his memory over and over again, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall any prophecy significant enough to warrant such a grave reaction from Osborne.
Osborne stared at him without blinking, patiently waiting for recognition to dawn on Daniel's face. However, after several long moments of silence, Daniel could only shake his head.
Just as Osborne had expected, he truly didn't remember. A quiet chuckle escaped Osborne's lips before he slowly shook his head in disappointment.
"You've really forgotten." His voice was both soft and helpless.
Daniel gave an honest nod. It was far easier to admit that he had forgotten than to continue forcing himself to remember something that simply refused to surface.
