Ken's breath caught in his throat, and his eyes widened in alarm. "A missing person?" he blurted out.
A cold shiver raced down his spine as he stared at Mark as though seeing him for the first time.
Of all the reasons Mark could have appeared in his office, this was the last thing he had expected to hear.
Mark remained calm. After a brief moment of thought, he shrugged lightly.
"You can say it that way."
Ken drew in a slow breath and forced himself to calm down.
Missing-person cases were not something he wanted anywhere near his business. The mere possibility of being involved in one made him uneasy.
Under normal circumstances, he would have politely declined and sent the person away.
Unfortunately, Mark was not someone he could afford to offend.
Very few people knew who Mark truly was, and unfortunately Ken happened to be one of them.
