Phina stood frozen, looking at Bruce, unable to decipher what it was that had gone wrong.
If anything, she never expected Bruce to get physical almost to the point of choking…no, strangling her to death.
Had he really lost his marbles, or was there something else she didn't know about.
But the more she thought about it, the more exhausted she felt.
"Bruce, the one who stays with you till the end will always be me." She smirked, though her voice came out hoarse and painful.
Bruce's hand paused briefly. His gaze shot toward her before he slowly retracted it, the tension in his fingers easing as if he were forcing himself back under control before he resumed going through the documents before him.
Phina rubbed her neck briefly, she drew in a deep breath steadying herself, then forced her legs to move forward.
She was just about to leave the office when Bruce's cold voice filtered through the air.
