Adrian POV
"Can you stop glaring at me? It wasn't really my fault." I smirked.
Her face clouded over; she grabbed the pillow next to her on the bed and hurled it at me. It landed squarely on my face.
I laughed. "You should have waited to hear me out before throwing the pillow…."
"What good would you say again other than…" She interrupted swiftly, still glaring daggers at me.
"You are just too sweet." I cut her off before she finished whatever sentence she wanted to make.
Her gaze lowered immediately; her cheeks blushed hard. That solves it.
Slowly, I walked over to her again, placing the pillow back on the bed.
"You just lie down for a while….and rest. I wouldn't be going out again. I will be in the study...I have work to do." I coaxed her.
Seeing her so restless when I returned, I was sure she had been pacing the room, waiting for me…probably worried.
My fault.
But her scent… it had completely unraveled what little control I had left.
