Stella POV
The night stretched on with a soft cold glow illuminating my path as the moon graced the earth with its presence.
Until I stood at the entrance of a dense forest.
The howl of wolves echoed loudly, vibrating in the air, each howl stronger than the other that I felt shivers rush down my spine.
I glanced at the entrance of the dense forest with tall trees stretching ahead, its branches snaked across each other in an embrace…a lingering question coursed through my thoughts.
How on earth did I end up here?
Why does it feel as though I had something buried deep in this forest waiting to be discovered?
I knew I should turn back, yet my feet remained rooted to the spot, as though the ground itself refused to release me.
While my thoughts lingered raw and clear, I felt a shadow sweep past me with a lightning speed.
My heart thumped.
Who was that? I asked no one in particular since I was all by myself.
But then like the question itself, I was met with silence…
