Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: An Alliance of Despair

Xiang En stared at the ten-meter-wide crater where a moment ago Admiral Kizaru had stood. The Admiral was currently reforming his body of light particles, completely unharmed but no doubt slightly annoyed. Kagura, meanwhile, was fiddling with her parasol, utterly confused about her ineffective attack.

"Xia-chan, I hit him right on the head," Kagura insisted, stamping her foot. "Did you lie? Is he not a guy who needs Haki? Is he some kind of... space ghost?"

"He's a Logia, you idiot!" Xiang En hissed, dragging her backward, away from the reforming light particles. His panic was a cold, sharp claw gripping his chest. "I told you! We don't have Haki! We leave! Now!"

Kizaru rematerialized fully, looking down at the immense damage caused by a single strike from the small girl. He raised a hand, the tip of his finger already glowing with the destructive heat of a laser.

"My, my," Kizaru drawled, his voice slow and lazy, yet carrying immense menace. "That was quite rude, little miss. You've ruined the pavement. Now, where was I? Ah, right. Finding some information..."

Xiang En saw his life flash before his eyes. A direct hit from that laser would vaporize both of them. He tightened his grip on Kagura, ready to bolt.

The Supernova Spectacle

Suddenly, a loud groan echoed from the rubble of a nearby building, drawing Kizaru's attention.

Urouge, the 'Mad Monk,' a colossal figure in monk's robes, slowly pushed himself free from the debris where he had evidently been tossed during the initial chaos on the island. He was bloody, battered, and clearly furious.

"Another fiend!" Urouge roared, mistaking Kizaru's laser-focused presence for an attack aimed at him. "You won't take me so easily!"

Urouge began to move toward the Admiral, transforming from a simple fighter into a massive, muscle-bound beast as his Devil Fruit ability activated.

Kizaru, observing the attack, merely gave a slight, bored tilt of his head. Before Urouge's massive fist could connect, Kizaru instantly dissolved into a blinding flash of yellow light and reformed just a meter to the side.

Urouge's fist, now fueled by uncontrollable momentum and his Devil Fruit's sheer brute force, missed its target entirely. The 'Mad Monk' stumbled, his eyes still locked on the spot where Kizaru had been. His massive arm kept swinging wildly, driven by residual power.

The uncontrolled swing cut a wide arc and connected with Kagura, who was still trying to wrestle her food pot free from Xiang En.

The impact was bone-jarring.

"Hey! Don't hit people during their lunch break!" Kagura yelled, her expression instantly shifting from childish frustration to pure, cold fury.

Instead of being sent flying—as any normal human, or even most strong pirates, would be—Kagura remained rooted. She braced herself against the Supernova's full-force blow, her feet digging trenches in the shattered asphalt. The force rippled through her Yato body, causing the ground beneath her to crack further.

With a snarl, Kagura didn't just block; she reacted with her own monstrous, unrefined strength. She seized Urouge's wrist with both hands and, using his own momentum against him, let out a piercing grunt.

With a casual, terrifying display of power, Kagura spun the 108-million-Beli Supernova twice, releasing it with a flick of her wrists. Urouge shot across the street like a projectile, tearing a path through the debris and embedding himself deep into the side of a damaged warehouse wall with a crushing impact.

Xiang En, who had ducked behind Kagura, stared at the massive indent in the wall where Urouge was now slowly slumping.

She just treated a Supernova like a baseball. That's a good distraction.
