Chapter 4 - New Life in Another World (II)

Kaiya hurried after Viviana, her heels clicking against the wooden floor of their modest home. The black dress clung to her like a lover's embrace, accentuating every curve—her breasts bouncing slightly with each step.

She felt a mix of self-consciousness and empowerment; back in her old life as Toya, she'd have killed for a body like this to ogle, but now it was hers.

'Damn, these hips sway on their own. Is this how girls feel all the time? Like walking sex appeal?' she thought, a smirk playing on her lips despite the morning's tension.

Outside, their mom was already in the driver's seat of the old car—a beat-up sedan from what looked like the early 2000s, with faded paint and a dented fender.

It wasn't fancy, no hovering capabilities or magical enhancements that Kaiya half-expected in this world, but hey, something was better than nothing.

Viviana slid into the front passenger seat without a word, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders like a dark waterfall. Kaiya climbed into the back, the leather seats creaking under her weight. The door shut with a dull thud, and the engine sputtered to life.

The car pulled out into the street, and an ominous silence settled over them like a heavy fog. No radio, no small talk, just the hum of the tires on the asphalt.

Their mother gripped the wheel tightly, her eyes fixed on the road ahead, the lines of exhaustion etched deeper into her face.

Viviana scrolled through her phone, her fingers tapping away at messages, probably coordinating with her hunter friends. Kaiya, however, pressed her face against the cool window, her pink cat-like eyes wide with wonder.

This world... it was familiar yet alien, a blend of her old Earth's modernity with sparks of something straight out of fantasy novels. 'Holy shit, this isn't just some isekai trope. It's real. Buildings look normal, but... wait, what's that?'

As they drove through the city, the scenery unfolded like a sci-fi movie she'd binge-watched back in her previous life. The roads were wider than she remembered, with sleek electric cars zipping by, but interspersed were elements that made her heart race.

They passed a massive mall, its entire structure made of transparent glass that shimmered under the morning sun. It wasn't just glass—it pulsed faintly with a blue glow, as if infused with mana.

People floated in and out on escalators that levitated without visible mechanisms, their shopping bags hovering beside them like obedient pets.

'That's insane! In my old world, malls were just concrete boxes with overpriced coffee. Here, it's like the whole building is alive. I bet you could see right through to the other side if you stared hard enough. Magic for shopping? Sign me up... or wait, can I even use magic?'

Further along, the reliance on magic became even more apparent. A group of teenagers zipped by on floating skateboards, the boards glowing with runes that propelled them effortlessly over cracks in the sidewalk.

One kid laughed, conjuring a small gust of wind to boost his speed, his board leaving a trail of sparkling particles.

Kaiya's jaw dropped. 'Floating skateboards? That's straight out of Back to the Future, but with actual magic! no tricks—just pure mana or whatever they call it here. Man, if I had that as Toya, I'd have been the king of the streets. Instead, I'm stuck gawking like a tourist.'

They turned a corner, and a street vendor caught her eye. He was an older man with a cart that hovered a foot off the ground, stabilized by faint green auras.

In his hands, he heated burgers not with a grill, but with flames dancing from his palms. Controlled fire magic that cooked the patties to perfection without smoke or char.

Customers lined up, paying with glowing crystals that he scanned with a device on his wrist. One woman waved her hand, and her burger assembled itself mid-air, toppings floating into place before landing neatly in a bun.

'Okay, that's next-level. This guy's a one-man kitchen wizard. I wonder if the food tastes enchanted too—probably makes you stronger or something. God, I'm hungry again just watching.'

More examples bombarded her senses as the car weaved through traffic. A construction worker levitated massive steel beams into place on a half-built skyscraper, his muscles barely straining thanks to earth-affinity magic that lightened the load. Nearby, a delivery drone—not mechanical, but a summoned ethereal bird, carried packages across the sky, its wings shimmering with illusory feathers.

Pedestrians chatted while holographic billboards advertised dungeon gear:

"Enhance Your Affinity!

Core-Infused Potions Now 20% Off!"

Kaiya leaned closer to the window, her breath fogging the glass. 'This world is addicted to magic. Everything's easier, flashier. No wonder the magic-less are screwed—it's like being the only guy without a smartphone in a world of influencers.'

The memories from her new body trickled in, painting a clearer picture. This wasn't some medieval fantasy; it was a modern Earth parallel where "dungeons" had appeared decades ago—rifts in reality spewing monsters and treasures.

Finally, the car slowed to a stop in front of a colossal building. "Large" didn't even come close; it was a dome-like structure built entirely of glass and steel, spanning over 200 meters in diameter.

The glass facets reflected the sky like a giant crystal, with runes etched into the frame that pulsed with protective energy.

Students bustled through the entrance, crossing a sprawling garden where flowers bloomed unnaturally vibrant, tended by water sprites summoned by the groundskeepers. This was Wiltberg's Hunter Academy—one of the, or rather the biggest, hunter academies in the continent of Wiltberg.

It trained the elite, those with affinity, to dive into dungeons, slay beasts, and harvest cores that fueled the economy.

Viviana grabbed her bag and stepped out, her bodycon dress hugging her figure as she walked gracefully toward the entrance.

Two other girls—both stunning, with athletic builds and glowing auras joined her, laughing and linking arms.

Kaiya couldn't tear her eyes away, mesmerized by the sway of Viviana's hips, the confident stride that screamed power and allure.

'Whoa, sis is packing some serious assets. That ass could make a guy like old me drool. Wait, am I checking out my own sister? This body swap is messing with my head.'

[Oh, Host, staring a bit too long there? Careful, or you might unlock the 'Lesbian Route' achievement. Wouldn't that be a plot twist? From virgin boy to girl-on-girl action—talk about leveling up your kinks.]

Kaiya flushed, snapping her gaze away.

'Shut up, System! It's not like that. I'm just... appreciating the view. Blame the hormones or whatever this body has going on.'

She chuckled inwardly, but the system's snark hit a nerve. Was she changing already? The thought sent a shiver down her spine, mixing excitement with confusion.

The car engine revved again, pulling away from the academy. Kaiya sank back into her seat, the silence now feeling heavier. More memories surfaced: she was currently studying Filming at a university—directing, editing, the works.

It was a practical major for the magic-less, turning everyday tech into art, maybe even documenting hunter exploits from afar.

'Filming, huh? Like porn? Wait, maybe I can turn this into something. Record some steamy dungeon raids, add a twist...'

Soon, the car stopped in front of another building. It was seamlessly blunt compared to the hunter academy— a rectangular monolith of concrete and glass, as large but lacking the flair. Where the academy buzzed with hordes of energetic students, auras clashing like fireworks, this place had less than half the enthusiasm.

Groups of young adults shuffled in, carrying backpacks and laptops, their faces resigned. No floating gear, no summoned companions.

Just ordinary people in an extraordinary world. This was the University of Applied Arts, haven for the affinity-zero crowd, the "less fortunate" who scraped by without magic's edge.

Kaiya stepped out, closing the door with a soft click. The morning breeze tugged at her dress, exposing a bit more thigh than intended.

She stood there, staring up at the imposing facade, her heart pounding. The weight of it all crashed down, new body, new world, zero power.

'This is it? My fresh start? Stuck in film school while sis becomes a badass hunter? No way. I died a virgin; I'm not living as a loser.'

She exhaled slowly, determination hardening her features. "I need to do something or I am dead," she whispered to herself, the words hanging in the air like a vow.

As she walked toward the entrance, students glanced her way, eyes lingering on her curves. One guy tripped over his own feet, blushing furiously.

Kaiya smirked. 'Alright, body, let's see what you can do. System, any quests for god's sake! Aren't there any?'

[Patience, Host. First class, then conquests.]

She laughed under her breath, stepping into the building. The adventure, or whatever twisted version this transmigration offered—was just beginning.
