Arata saw that Obito was halfway buried in the ground and immediately reached out.

In truth, Arata was not particularly eager to capture Obito.
The attack had been more of a test of Obito's strength, to see the gap between them and whether Obito posed a threat.
Judging by the results, Arata had worried for nothing. Obito was completely defenseless in front of him.
If it weren't for White Zetsu using the unfamiliar Wood Release....Spore Technique to scare Obito and create an escape, Obito would have been finished that day.
The Spore Technique absorbs the target's chakra while rapidly growing.
The victim cannot sever the connection, causing their chakra to drain. This weakens the target and nourishes the spore clone.
Arata, however, was different. With his own Wood Release kekkei genkai, he easily neutralized the technique.
He recovered the drained chakra and destroyed all the spores left by White Zetsu, leaving only two that remained obediently in the palm of his hand, wrapped in his own Wood Release chakra.
Arata stood for a while longer, scanning the battlefield...not only for leftover enemy traces but also to see if the enemy would strike again.
After waiting, he shook his head and chuckled. He hadn't expected Obito's intrusion to fizzle out so quickly.
After just one encounter, Obito had fled in embarrassment. Arata realized he had overestimated him.
