Uchiha Arata simply nodded, accepting the praise silently.
He then guided the elder toward a vast open clearing.
"Elder, the reason I brought you here today is because… while copying Wood Release techniques earlier, I replicated something interesting."
Without waiting for the old man to respond, Arata formed a sequence of hand seals.
"Wood Release ..... Four-Pillar House Technique!"
The ground trembled.
In just a few seconds, a fully structured wooden house rose from the earth...large enough to comfortably shelter a family of five. Arata casually sat atop the rooftop, legs crossed.
"How's my technique, Elder?"
Elder Ryo stepped inside, rapping his knuckles against the pillars and walls.
"Solid… Very solid. I've never seen or heard of this Wood Release technique before.
Must've been an original creation of that Wood Release user. Very suitable for building a new settlement."
Looking up at Arata, he asked, "What about the chakra cost? Any negative effects?"
Arata hopped lightly off the roof, patting imaginary dust from his hands.
"It's minimal.
With my current chakra reserves, producing hundreds of these houses would be easy.
And there's even an advanced version—if I use that, I could build an entire Uchiha settlement in just one night."
The elder circled the house twice, confirming its sturdiness.
"In that case, our relocation can speed up significantly.
Once we select the new land and flatten it with Earth Release, we can begin constructing our new clan compound."
Arata smiled—this was his first time putting Wood Release to practical use.
Then he pulled a scroll from his ninja pouch, handing it to the elder with a smug grin.
"Elder, guess what this is?"
Elder Ryo accepted the scroll, opening it....
...and instantly snapped it shut, as though a beast were hidden inside.
His eyes widened.
He clearly hadn't expected Arata to retrieve something this crucial.
Arata chuckled.
The scroll contained a copied excerpt from the Third Hokage's archives
Konoha's top-secret Barrier Technique.
The very technique powering the village-
wide barrier surrounding the Leaf.
If the Uchiha clan acquired it, their new lands would become nearly impregnable.
The barrier couldn't stop overwhelmingly powerful enemies...
but it could detect intruders instantly, along with their exact location.
The elder carefully opened it again, reading every detail, before storing it away like a priceless treasure.
Of course, Arata never intended the barrier to block monsters like Zetsu or Nagato with Obito.....but such enemies were rare.
For everyday threats, the barrier was invaluable.
After touring the pocket dimension a little longer, the two exited.
By now, the tea on the table had long gone cold.
Elder Ryo brewed a fresh pot and poured with steady hands before continuing their discussions.
Arata poured for both of them before the elder finally spoke:
"With this, our clan's relocation will be much easier.
Once they finish leveling the land, we'll rely on you for the initial construction.
But only this time. In the future, they must build with their own hands.
Otherwise, they'll grow spoiled and complacent."
Arata nodded.
That was precisely his thought.
He wasn't their caretaker.....helping once was enough.
Letting the entire clan depend on him would rot their motivation and weaken the clan's spirit.
After clan matters were settled, the elder chuckled.
"Public matters done. Now let's discuss personal ones."
Arata rolled his eyes internally.
He knew the old man had ulterior motives for visiting early in the morning.
Unbothered by Arata's silence, Elder Ryo grinned.
"I heard you brought a young lady home last night. And she stayed the night?"
Arata didn't blush or flinch.
At his age, starting a relationship was perfectly normal.
He sipped his tea calmly.
"Yes. Met her in the ANBU. I like her. She likes me."
The elder tapped his finger on the table thoughtfully.
"You're at the age to seek a partner. In fact, I'd even picked out a few girls within the clan for you. Planned to introduce you soon… didn't expect you to bring someone home already."
Seeing Arata show no displeasure, he continued:
"I'm not against you finding someone outside. But you must understand....
as the strongest of our clan, you set an example.
If every clan member looks outward for marriage, our internal cohesion will weaken drastically."
