Because of differing assignments....and Arata's own days off...they hadn't crossed paths again.
Arata planned to ask the Third Hokage to assign Kakashi as the squad leader, with himself and Uzuki Yugao on the same team for this mission.
Although his Mangekyō ability,
Kotoamatsukami, was still in cooldown after controlling both the Third Hokage and Shimura Danzō.....making it impossible to manipulate Kakashi and copy his eye technique, Kamui...Arata could still observe him closely.
Maybe, at some point, he'd find a way to learn that ability directly.
As for bringing Uzuki Yugao along… well, having a beautiful woman around was always a pleasant bonus.
To Arata, she was practically a lucky charm. Still, her swordsmanship seemed impressive...something he could quietly copy for himself later.
In the world of shinobi, samurai and swordsmanship had long fallen into decline. True sword masters were rare.
Hatake Sakumo had been one of the few, but he'd been forced to take his own life under Danzō's schemes.
His son, Hatake Kakashi, eventually abandoned the Hatake Kenjutsu style altogether.
That was why, in later years, Kakashi often seemed powerless.....more like a side character.
Only near the end, borrowing Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan, did he manage one flashy moment that barely saved his reputation.
Having made up his mind, Arata wasted no time.
As night approached, he went straight to the Hokage's office to request the new mission setup.
He could've easily delegated this to someone else, but Arata preferred to move around personally.
Missions offered both training and opportunities.
More importantly, he could take advantage of his travels to plant spatial marks across the entire shinobi world....making future movement far easier.
This task, of course, was one only he could handle himself.
By the time Arata returned to the Uchiha compound, the sky had already darkened.
Feeling his empty stomach, he guessed Mikoto had probably finished dinner, so he decided not to disturb her.
Instead, he turned toward the livelier part of Konoha to find something to eat.
Roasted meat or Ichiraku Ramen? Arata barely hesitated for a second before deciding.....obviously, Ichiraku Ramen.
After all, the barbecue shop didn't have the adorable Ayame.
When he arrived, the ramen shop was packed, as usual.
Many of the customers were chūnin and genin who had just finished missions nearby.
Ichiraku was cheap, delicious, and filling.....perfect for those perpetually broke shinobi.
It was so busy that even Ayame was running around non-stop, her cute face flushed pink with effort. She looked adorable.
When she noticed Arata, her eyes brightened with joy, though she only had time for a quick greeting before rushing off again.
Arata smiled and called toward the counter,
"Uncle Ichiraku! The usual....two extra-large deluxe bowls. One tonkotsu, one seafood."
The man behind the counter, busy as ever, called back while stirring noodles,
"How many times do I have to tell you? Stop calling me uncle! I'm not that old...
call me big brother!"
Arata found a seat among the crowd and grinned.
"But Ayame's so cute....I've already decided she'll be my future wife. If I call you big brother now, wouldn't that make me a generation higher? That won't do."
Ichiraku rolled his eyes so hard it was almost audible and decided to ignore him.
Meanwhile, Ayame, still darting around the shop, snuck a quick glance at Arata.....her cheeks, already pink, turned even redder.
The other patrons looked at Arata for a moment, but when they noticed the Uchiha crest on his back, they quickly turned away.
The Uchiha Police Force wasn't something anyone wanted to provoke.
Arata looked friendly enough, but the people beside him wisely chose to keep quiet...better safe than sorry.
Before long, Ayame carefully brought over his enormous ramen bowls.
Even though they were already served in large dishes, hers were filled to the brim, soup nearly spilling over.
The shinobi beside him glanced at their own "large" bowls and then at Arata's towering servings.
A moment of silence followed. Since when did "deluxe" mean that big of a difference?
Arata didn't care.
After exchanging a knowing smile with Ayame, he lifted his chopsticks and began to enjoy his feast.
Ever since Uchiha Arata mastered the Lightning Release Armor, his appetite had been increasing day by day.
Although his food intake had dropped slightly after completing the first stage of training, today was different...he had just awakened his Kekkei Genkai: Wood Release.
His chakra reserves had skyrocketed, and his life force was brimming with vitality.
All that energy had to come from somewhere...naturally, from the fuel his body stored through food.
In truth, Arata's body wasn't overdrawn, but it demanded enormous amounts of energy.
And there was only one way to supply that...eat.
Right now, he felt as though a tiny claw was scratching his insides from the throat down, gnawing with hunger.
Only by eating fast and filling his stomach could he soothe that wild, ravenous feeling.
Arata picked up the large ramen bowl, took a long sip of the rich tonkotsu broth, letting its warmth settle his stomach.
