A Day Off and a Market adventure
After a whole month, we finally scored a day off! We all immediately raced toward our parents' pavilion. My third sister confessed, "I'm missing my mother so much!"
I replied. "I miss My parents, too, but I definitely miss my sisters the most."
My third sister giggle, "Well, I certainly don't miss my stinky brother! He's too naughty!"
Laughing and joking, we soon arrived at our destination. As I walked into the courtyard, I realized my father—the absolute daughters' slave—had completely forgotten it was my holiday! He and my mother were just about to head out for a fun day of shopping at the market.
"Did you forget about me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, no! Of course not!" he stammered guiltily, "We were just waiting for you!"
I rolled my eyes, but then my sister started acting all cute with me, so I let it go and happily joined in the fun.
While strolling through the market, we found all sorts of interesting things. We ate delicious candies, and I even picked up some low-level talisman paper and a brush. Since our cultivation level is still very low, we can't practice any other major arts yet, but we can start with low-grade talisman practice.
Then, my sister dashed toward a stall selling random trinkets. She instantly fell for a hairpin that wasn't particularly beautiful but had a little bird perched on it. The vendor claimed he'd brought these things back from a secret realm and was asking 50 low-grade spiritual stones!
Another vendor nearby gave the man a speechless look and mumbled, "Talk less, lie more."
But who is my father? A daughter's slave, remember? He didn't even try to bargain and just bought that normal-looking hairpin directly! I stared at him, speechless myself.
He must have thought I was mad, because he then bought me a Jade pendant from the same stall. The jade was quite dirty and showed no spiritual energy, but it had a very good dragon pattern on it. The vendor, seeing a fool and his money, again claimed it was also from the 'secret realm' and that he wouldn't sell it if he didn't desperately need the money. My father bought it for 20 lowest-grade spiritual stones.
After having a lot of fun, we headed back. As we were walking, something suddenly flashed through my mind, but I couldn't quite remember what it was.
When we got back, my mother had already prepared food for my sister and me. My parents are at a stage where they don't actually need to eat, but they joined us anyway.
After the meal, they asked if I was having any difficulties with my cultivation. I told them no. Then, I asked my mother for some tips about talisman making—she's a level 3 Talisman Master and a level 4 Formation Master, so she knows her stuff!
She advised, "When you make a talisman, you must have a steady mind and full concentration. If you feel irritated, you will definitely fail to complete the talisman." She added that talisman practice isn't just a profession; it actually helps to improve one's spiritual awareness! With consistent practice, your spiritual awareness will become much better than your peers', without needing anything else.
