"Ah, its the same dream again." Theo woke up feeling like a thousand tons. Over the past few weeks, he had been forced to work overtime and had been really stressed. Moreover, he had been having the same dream every night for six nights in a row.
He would, in his dreams, finally achieve his twisted goal of wiping out humanity and die along with them. But every time he did, he would always wake up. This made him hate waking up even more.
"Haa" he sighed. "Another day to live this godforsaken life." He got up from the bed and got ready for work. Each morning dragged him back from the one place he could finally rest, the dream where everything ended. 'Maybe, just maybe today might be different...'
'What wishful thinking.' The world is cruel and life is unfair. Just because you want something to happen so much didn't mean it would happen.
Theodore happened to hate his boss who always bullied him and gave him extreme work hours as a form of oppression all because he wanted to chase after Theo's girlfriend. Unsurprisingly, after he showed his 'dominance' in finance, said girlfriend immediately broke up with young Theo.
At the age of 34, he looked no different from a depraved madman. He had short, ragged hair, bags under his eyes and a sullen expression as he typed away on his computer. The game the company was working on was expected to be completed today. It was a virtual reality game which incorporated the Greek gods of myth and it had a launch deadline of a few days.
"Idiot, hurry it up? You're the only one still working on this stupid game." A slap landed on the back of Theo's head as he was scolded by his boss. "Almost done, just adding a few finishing touches." he replied lackadaisically, still typing away like nothing had happened.
"Good. I want the game up and running in two minutes."
"What? The number of bugs here is going to take at least another two hours to completely clean."
"Exactly, you have two minutes!" His boss turned his head and said with a fierce look on his face before turning and swaggering back into his office.
Theo gritted his teeth hard while clenching his fists, and a faint grin appeared on his face as he turned to continue working.
Theo went to sleep as usual after getting home by three in the morning. However, this time he slept off with a smile on his face. No one knew what he had done except him but he expected them to get a huge surprise when the game launched in three days.
However, life was unfair and he would never get to see their reactions when the game launched. He died that night.
