Seventh Universe, Sacred World of the Kaiōshin.
Beneath a towering tree—
The Old Kaiōshin sat with one hand raised, while the other casually flipped through a gravure magazine. As he read, he let out a series of strange, lecherous "heh heh heh" chuckles.
Gran, seated cross-legged before him, showed no reaction at all.
Because he had already entered a deep meditative state.
Shin, sitting nearby, twitched violently the moment he heard those sounds, his face instantly darkening.
"A Kaiōshin from more than fifteen generations ago, spending all day reading this kind of trash… Aren't you embarrassed at all?"
Shin muttered inwardly, then glanced at Gran again—still unable to determine just how far Gran's strength had reached.
One month earlier, when his ancestor had unlocked Gran's potential, the Old Kaiōshin had let out a shock-filled exclamation.
Yet when Shin asked about Gran's actual level afterward, the old man had said nothing—only grinning foolishly the whole time.
It was infuriatingly tantalizing.
With a sigh, Shin withdrew his gaze and activated the crystal ball, observing the Seventh Universe instead.
Over the past two years, several strange changes had occurred.
Cooler of the East Galaxy had vanished without a trace. With the Cooler Force gone, all manner of lurking evils began emerging across the region.
Thankfully...
The Saiyans had long since joined the Galactic Patrol. With them mediating affairs, the East Galaxy had not fallen into chaos.
At the same time, throughout the Seventh Universe, numerous high-potential civilizations had begun to bloom explosively.
Shin was certain that in another ten years, the universe's Mortal Level would experience a geyser-like surge.
"Let me calculate…"
Under the Old Kaiōshin's guidance, Shin had learned many things. He began estimating the Seventh Universe's future trajectory.
"If everything continues along its original path, then…"
"4.0!"
Shin's heart slammed violently in his chest.
Doubting his own calculation, he ran it again.
The result was still around 4.0.
"Is this… for real?!"
He swallowed hard.
The Seventh Universe's Mortal Level was currently 3.20—and in just ten years, it would skyrocket to 4.0?!
Overcome with excitement, Shin prepared to calculate twenty years into the future
But at that moment—
A seven-colored streak of light descended from the sky.
"So your candidate can actually manipulate time," Beerus' voice rang out. "In that case, survival shouldn't be an issue."
Five figures stepped out of a Universe Traversal Cube—Beerus and the others had returned from the World of Void.
"Of course," Champa chuckled smugly. "When I chose my candidate, my number-one rule was that he must never drag Gran down. I had only one requirement—stay alive."
Beerus' mouth twitched. "So you've been eyeing Gran since five years ago?"
"What do you mean five?" Champa shrank his neck helplessly. "I've been eyeing him for over ten years! I almost stole him back then—who knew you'd return so fast!"
"You really shouldn't have said that."
Beerus cracked his knuckles, reaching for Champa's neck.
"Lord Beerus!"
Shin sprang to his feet and hurried over—only to realize Champa and Vados were also present.
"Greetings, Lord Champa. Greetings, Lady Vados."
He bowed deeply.
Seeing Shin approach, Beerus finally released Champa.
"Not bad," Champa remarked. "The Kaiōshin of the Seventh Universe is becoming more and more mature."
He shot Beerus a sideways glance—as if to say you could learn a thing or two.
"Tch."
Beerus turned his head away—only to notice Gran sitting beneath the tree.
Judging by the Old Kaiōshin's posture, he was already in the process of unlocking Gran's potential.
"Lord Beerus, Gran has finally ret—"
Before Shin could finish, Beerus nodded.
"I can see that."
Everyone's gaze shifted to Gran.
He was no longer wearing the bulky gravity suit. His appearance remained bright and handsome, eyes closed as he sat in meditation before the Old Kaiōshin.
A moment passed.
"I can't see through him."
Vados' expression turned grave. "To reach this level… only true Gods of Destruction can achieve such concealment."
Those words sent a tidal wave crashing through Champa's mind.
Already at God of Destruction level?!
Was this kid even legal?!
"Whis," Beerus suppressed his excitement, "now that you're this close, what's your take?"
"My take?"
Whis shook his head, drew a deep breath, and replied calmly, "None. Just like Sister Vados, I still can't see through Gran."
Gulp.
Beerus swallowed hard.
If two angels were saying the same thing, then Gran had unquestionably reached true God of Destruction level.
Good grief…
Beerus and Champa exchanged looks, both seeing the same uncontrollable excitement in each other's eyes.
"Skin-and-bones," Champa grinned wildly, "didn't that clown say his candidate possessed power beyond a God of Destruction?"
"Beyond a God of Destruction?"
Beerus bared his teeth. "In front of my Gran, he's nothing but a fart."
Back when Whis evaluated Gran, he had only reached the Second Stage of the Divine Realm, yet was already unbeatable among candidate Gods of Destruction.
Now?
No one knew how far Gran had advanced.
But with Gran's monstrous talent, his growth could only be terrifying.
Beerus suspected that at this point, Gran might already be capable of defeating certain active Gods of Destruction.
"Hahahaha!"
Champa burst into laughter, hands on his hips. "Our two universes together—who could possibly stand against us?!"
Vados' eye twitched.
Shameless fatass. Gran's strength belongs to the Seventh Universe—what does it have to do with you?!
Even Whis couldn't help but smile. Beerus' brother really was… endearing, in his own way.
"Keep your voice down."
Beerus slammed a fist into Champa's belly. Champa instantly doubled over like a cooked shrimp.
"Y-You… why'd you hit me?!" Champa groaned, clutching his stomach.
"That old man is unlocking Gran's potential," Beerus snapped. "Don't disturb them."
Unlocking potential?
Champa and Vados exchanged looks.
Drawing out one's latent power wasn't inherently forbidden—it was still one's own strength, after all.
But most methods came with serious drawbacks.
How could Beerus possibly allow that old geezer to do this to Gran?
"Lord Champa," Whis said calmly, "the Old Kaiōshin's method has no side effects whatsoever. There's no need for concern."
"No side effects?!"
Champa's eyes bulged.
He already couldn't see through Gran at all.
If Gran's potential were unlocked without any drawbacks…
Just how terrifying would he become in five years?
