The Heavenly Realm.
After observing the lower world, the God of Earth had already returned to the Sanctuary.
Only Popo remained standing at the edge of the realm.
In truth, Popo had noticed Gran and the others the moment they climbed Korin Tower, but—as always—he showed no reaction whatsoever, simply standing there in quiet calm.
Suddenly
Eight figures rose from below the Heavenly Realm, their speed not particularly fast, yet each one radiated terrifying divine pressure.
Those two troublemakers from Beerus's side were releasing their aura again!
Tap, tap, tap
Little Gran descended with the group of gods, landing upon the Heavenly Realm.
Only one person stood there waiting, so naturally everyone's attention fell on the dark figure in the distance.
No one spoke.
Both sides simply stared at each other.
In that moment, the air grew strangely tense.
To Gran's eyes, Popo looked exactly the same as in the anime—dark skin, composed expression, unreadable calm.
In his past life, many people had speculated that Popo had a deep, mysterious origin.
What that origin truly was, Gran couldn't say—but one thing was certain: Popo's lifespan was terrifyingly long.
Because within the Heavenly Realm existed a cemetery of gods—burial grounds for every God of Earth throughout history.
And throughout all those generations, every single God of Earth had been served by Popo alone.
Countless gods had died, yet Popo remained alive.
That alone defied all common sense.
"Whis, did you discover anything?" Gran whispered.
In his mind, the strange relics atop Korin Tower, as well as the existence of the Heavenly Realm itself, had to be connected to Popo.
Now he just had to see whether Whis and Vados could discern what this guy truly was.
"Discover anything?"
Whis swept his gaze across the Heavenly Realm, its entire structure entering his mind at once
The Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
The gods' graveyard.
A chamber capable of sending consciousness into the distant past.
"Of course I discovered something—and what I found is quite shocking," Whis said, his expression unusually grave.
"It is shocking," Vados added calmly. "Because this place involves time."
The moment her words landed
"What?!"
Beerus and the others widened their eyes.
In the Omni-King's universe, time was among the most forbidden, most mysterious forces.
Even angels themselves could only rewind time by three minutes.
"Could this guy have committed the crime of manipulating time…?"
Beerus's expression turned icy cold, purple aura rolling off him in violent waves.
Champa reacted the same way, destructive energy already forming at his fingertips.
Because in the Omni-King's law, manipulating time was a serious offense.
If discovered, the Gods of Destruction had the duty to eliminate the criminal.
"You two, don't act rashly," Whis said, pressing down on the brothers before turning his head toward his sister.
Unbeknownst to him, Vados was also looking directly at him.
Their gazes met—both seeing the same flicker of doubt reflected in the other's eyes.
"Gran, you go test him," Whis suddenly said, gesturing toward Popo.
"..."
Under these circumstances—when the other side's origins were clearly extraordinary—you're sending me?
Isn't that basically sending me to die?
Gran felt speechless.
"Whis, Gran hasn't even learned the Rules of Destruction yet. Sending him is—"
The Old Supreme Kai was stunned, but before he could finish—
"Old man, be quiet. With us here, what are you afraid of?" Beerus cut him off, dispersing his destructive energy with a casual wave.
The Old Supreme Kai glanced at little Gran, then at Whis, and fell silent.
"…Alright, I'll go."
Even though Gran complained internally, he trusted that Whis wouldn't harm him.
So
Fwoosh!
A silver glow erupted from his body.
His black hair instantly turned silver.
Ultra Instinct — Omen.
Facing the mysterious Popo, Gran chose to show full respect by giving his all from the start.
Wrapped in blazing silver aura, Gran moved—vanishing in an instant and reappearing behind Popo.
His fist shot forward!
He poured all his strength into this punch.
Under this attack, even a star field before him would have shattered to dust.
However
BOOM!!!
Popo exploded.
Silence.
The Heavenly Realm fell into deathly stillness.
Aside from Whis and Vados, everyone stood slack-jawed.
"H–how is that possible?!"
Clearly, this development was beyond everyone's expectations.
Even Gran, who had just vaporized someone, froze where he stood.
"Isn't Popo supposed to be super mysterious? Shouldn't he be insanely strong?"
"Why did he explode from a single punch?"
"Did my strength… actually rise again??"
Little Gran stared at his own small fist, unable to believe what had just happened.
While everyone stood there stunned, Vados tapped her staff—reviving Popo as if nothing had happened.
"There's nothing worth seeing here anymore. Let's go."
At some point, the doubt on Whis's face had vanished.
He returned to his usual graceful calm.
"Go? Just like that?" Gran stared at Whis, dumbfounded.
He wasn't the only one—Beerus, Champa, and the Old Supreme Kai all looked utterly confused.
Weren't they just talking about how ancient and familiar Korin Tower was?
Didn't they say they wanted to explore the Heavenly Realm for hidden secrets?
Didn't they say this place was tied to time?
Why were they suddenly leaving?!
"I've more or less figured it out. Let's go."
Whis gave Popo one last meaningful glance, then shot into the sky, not waiting for anyone else.
After Whis and the others completely disappeared, the Heavenly Realm was once again left with only Popo.
"So, they noticed?"
"Looks like I really did get killed just now."
Hands behind his back, Popo walked leisurely back toward the Sanctuary.
...
In the dark starry void, a streak of multicolored light raced through space—headed straight toward the Realm of the Supreme Kais.
Watching the scenery blur past, Gran felt a bit helpless.
Truthfully, aside from letting Beerus and Champa taste instant noodles, he had come to Earth because he wanted to see Son Goku.
Compared to Vegeta the rebel brat, Kakarot was the one he truly admired.
No
Now that he was a Saiyan too, he should call him Kakarot, not Son Goku.
Pure-hearted, kind, tolerant, stubbornly unyielding, never giving up…
Kakarot was truly captivating.
But
By timeline calculations, he had only transmigrated three years ago.
Which meant Kakarot had also been exiled only a little over three years.
Old Son Gohan probably hadn't even been stepped on yet—Kakarot was still too young.
Meeting him now would be meaningless.
"Hurry and grow up already. I hope you can still see my tail lights when the time comes!"
Little Gran chuckled inwardly, then turned to Whis.
"So what happened back there? Why could I blow up that dark guy with one punch?"
"Dark guy?"
Everyone paused—then remembering Popo's complexion, burst into laughter.
He really was a "black charcoal head."
"Before you struck, did you sense anything?" Whis asked.
Gran thought for a moment.
"I felt that his aura wasn't strong. That charcoal head felt… weak."
"And you, Lord Beerus?" Whis continued.
Beerus folded his arms. "Same as Gran. I sensed nothing powerful from him. Honestly, he felt like trash."
Whis swept his eyes across the group.
Champa and the Old Supreme Kai both nodded—they felt the same.
"Then you all sensed correctly. His aura truly was weak.
Using Gran's wording… he really is a weakling."
