Chapter 2 - Chp 2

Third Person POV

Akira stepped into the kitchen where breakfast was already set on the table and took his seat. His father settled beside him with a warm smile.

"So, Akira, what are your plans for today?" Kenji asked, pouring himself some tea.

"I don't know, father. The village is still reeling from the Nine-Tails attack, and there aren't many things to do right now," Akira replied while sipping his miso soup.

'Mmm, delicious! This breakfast is definitely made by mom,' he thought, savoring the warm, comforting soup.

The mention of the Kyubi immediately tensed the atmosphere in the room. Many people, especially civilians, were still struggling to recover from that traumatic incident. The Nine-Tails attack had occurred one year ago, and their Fourth Hokage had sacrificed himself to protect the village.

What most people didn't know was that his wife, Kushina Uzumaki, had also sacrificed herself that night, primarily to protect their newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki. From what Akira remembered from his previous life's knowledge of the anime and manga, Kushina probably didn't have any deep patriotic love for Konoha itself. It was simply the pure, instinctive love of a mother protecting her child.

To lighten the heavy mood that had settled over breakfast, his mother spoke up cheerfully beside his father. "Honey, your calligraphy materials arrived this morning. I've already placed them in the living room for you."

Akira's family consisted of three members: his father Kenji Matsuda, who was thirty years old, and his mother Yuki Matsuda, twenty-nine. Both had been orphans in their youth, growing up in the same orphanage. As they matured together, they developed feelings for each other and married ten years ago before having Akira. Even though he couldn't recall personal memories from his past life, Akira distinctly remembered the crushing loneliness of being without family. He suspected he had also been an orphan in his previous existence. Having a loving family now was far more precious to him than possessing any bloodline limit could ever be.

He had long ago decided to treasure these bonds and protect them at all costs. He was well aware of the larger conflicts that would eventually engulf their world, and he was determined not to fall behind when those times came.

After breakfast, both his parents left to prepare and open their bakery for the morning rush. Since it was a bakery, his father had already prepared fresh bread for their early customers.

After washing his plate, Akira went to the living room and collected the stationery materials before heading to his room. It was still early in the day, so he planned to go outside later to explore the village.
