Chapter 88 - Raven, Nearly Drained

"Master, sleep a little longer…" Saeko clung to Raven by his side.

Raven managed a helpless smile. This woman was absolutely ridiculous. If he weren't superhuman, he would have been completely exhausted by now. Although Yuka was also an Orphnoch, she didn't seem to have this kind of stamina.

It seemed the difference stemmed from the Amazon cells. Due to the Amazon cells, Saeko's stamina far surpassed that of an ordinary Orphnoch.

"Alright, you should be full enough by now." Raven reflected that he had been the one constantly losing energy all night, while Saeko had replenished quite a bit of protein.

As soon as Raven woke up, his stomach was already screaming for food. He urgently needed to eat meat to replenish his protein.

He playfully bared his teeth and nipped Saeko, causing her a slight pang of pain—a small warning. "I'm starving right now. Do you have any eggs or something to tide me over? Otherwise, I'll have to use you as emergency rations," Raven joked.

"It would be my honor to be eaten by Master." Saeko smiled seductively, replying, "Where would Master like to start eating?"

"Saeko, I'm not joking with you." Raven looked at her, and a powerful, ravenous urge surged in his mind. This was how an Amazon, especially an Amazon Origin, behaved when extremely hungry. Both humans and Amazon were potential meals.

Saeko looked slightly startled. She stopped joking and got up to check the kitchen for meat. Fortunately, because she had recently become an Amazon and craved meat, she always kept a stock of premium steaks at home.

Seeing this, Raven rushed over, grabbed a frozen steak, and began eating it raw. Gulp… He swallowed it in a few quick bites, and only then did Raven momentarily catch his breath.

"That's better…"

It seemed he really couldn't repeat last night. Normally, he consumed five times the amount of food a regular person did in a single meal, which could sustain his daily needs for several days. However, due to the excessive energy drain, his reserves were depleted in less than a single night.

In contrast, Saeko was not hungry at all. She even looked at a certain part of Raven with a suggestive look, sticking out her tongue to lick the corner of her mouth.

"No, don't even think about it. You won't get any for the next few days," Raven noticed the look in her eyes and quickly called out. However, his words also implied that he would give it to her in a few days.

"Master, can you really resist?" Saeko looked at Raven with a mournful gaze. At the moment, she wore nothing but a pair of stockings on her legs, brazenly tempting Raven.

"Put some clothes on first." Raven didn't want to look again, or he really wouldn't be able to stop himself.

After formally finishing breakfast, Raven prepared to take a shower. Saeko managed to find an opportunity and slipped in.

"Let's shower together, Master. I'll wash your back," her voice was full of temptation. She then proceeded to genuinely wash Raven's body. Seeing that she wasn't deliberately causing any trouble, Raven felt a sense of relief, though there was a hint of disappointment in his heart.

What was I even hoping for?

After showering and dressing, Raven left.

At that moment, his Junglaider automatically drove away from the Smart Brain building, a purple streak of lightning cutting across the road, and arrived in front of him.

"Time to go home." Raven mounted his bike and drove away from the area.

Not long after, as he rode along a seaside highway, Raven noticed something ahead. A figure was frantically fleeing while holding a small boy. Chasing them were several Orphnoch.

Coincidentally, the man running with the boy was Kaido, and the boy was the Orphnoch King currently awakening in this world, Teruo Suzuki.

Over the past few days, Teruo had been waking up in the middle of the night and running out to devour Orphnoch to absorb energy for his awakening, which led to him being recognized by a few quick-escaping Orphnoch survivors. To avoid being passive targets, they gathered a few of their comrades and planned to kill Teruo. Today, they just happened to encounter Kaido taking Teruo out. And so, they moved to attack.

Raven pulled over to the roadside and couldn't help but sigh. "So much of the plot has changed, yet Kaido still ran into this Teruo."

"He doesn't seem to be fully awake yet, though." Raven muttered to himself.

Kaido was running desperately, holding Teruo, and getting closer to Raven.

"Quick! Start the engine! Take us out of here!" Kaido, seeing Raven stopped on his motorcycle, treated him like a life raft.

"Why leave?" Raven dismounted, speaking with a look of interest.

"Can't you see? There are a few… uh, monsters running up behind us!" Kaido thought Raven was an ordinary person and urgently begged for help.

"What monsters? Aren't those just Orphnoch?" Raven looked at Kaido and the Teruo in his arms with a half-smile.

"You know about them? You… you aren't one of them too, are you?" Kaido took a few steps back, immediately putting his guard up against Raven. He inwardly cursed the little brat for causing him so much trouble. When did he provoke so many Orphnoch to chase him down?

At that moment, the pursuing Orphnoch quickly surrounded them. Kaido began to despair.

"I'll say this one last time! Hand over the boy!" a Frog Orphnoch said to Kaido.

"Hand him over! This guy has killed so many of our comrades! We can't let him go today!" another, larger Buffalo Orphnoch added.

They were a gang of Orphnoch who lived together and seemed quite united.

"Are you all sure you want to kill this boy?" Raven stepped forward and addressed them. "Do you even know who you are chasing?"
