After much contemplation, Saya decided to open up to Raven about something, so she went to his room to find him.
"Mr. Raven, I want to give the Delta Driver to you," Saya said, taking the belt out of her bag. This decision was one she had mulled over for a long time.
"Saya, I actually think you're quite suited to use this belt," Raven replied to her gently. He meant it; Delta's battle capabilities were strong when Saya transformed. Keeping it with her would provide protection for the house.
"But I…" Saya trailed off, hinting at a difficult secret. Her body was frail, she had been weak since childhood, and she simply hated fighting and violence.
"Then how about this: we'll keep the belt here at the café, and we'll both be responsible for guarding it to make sure no one steals it. You don't have to use it normally, but if Yuka and you are ever in danger when I'm not here, you must use the belt. How does that sound?"
"Yes, I understand," Saya nodded.
"That's the spirit." Raven's hand instinctively reached for Saya's cheek. He looked deeply into her eyes.
Saya understood the moment, and their gazes locked. In a rush of shyness, Saya initiated a hug, wrapping her pale, delicate arms tightly around him. After the maid costumes a few days ago and Yuka's open confession of her feelings, Saya was no longer hiding her own emotions for Raven.
"Mr. Raven, thank you for helping me so much and for being willing to take me in. I… I don't know how I can ever repay you." Saya was deeply moved. She had lost her parents young, was adopted into the Ryusei School, and was now all alone in the world, facing the malice and harm of her former classmates. Now, she finally had a true anchor, a place to belong.
"Don't talk about repaying me. Just stay here safely, just like Yuka. As long as I have food to eat, neither of you will go hungry," Raven promised, thumping his chest. He was happy to have two beautiful girls by his side.
Moved by his words, Saya made a bold decision. She suddenly looked up, trying to plant a quick kiss on Raven's cheek. This was something Yuka had coached her on: be more proactive with Raven.
What was intended to be a light, momentary kiss became something more when Raven's head shifted slightly, misaligning the angle. Saya ended up kissing him squarely on the lips.
"Huh?!"
In that instant, both their minds stalled. Raven thought, Saya is actually being this forward? Saya, meanwhile, was flustered. Just as she tried to pull away, Raven, having misunderstood her intent, pressed the back of her head with his hand.
And so, the two of them…
More than ten minutes later, a shy Saya finally left Raven's room.
Raven wore a look of lingering pleasure. Unlike the proactive Yuka, Saya was very passive, so he had done all the "attacking."
He glanced at the Delta Driver left beside him, thoughtfully. Since I have it now, maybe I should find a chance to test out its power.
The moment he had this thought, the system, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly appeared.
