LUNCH TIME
The classroom buzzed, with the sounds of chewing while the sun pass through the windows of our classroom hitting every possible speck of dust on it's way.
Ever since that day, iraka Mio has started to feed me countless dishes that she wanna try, it's a nice addition to my day and a great way to spend lunch time.
"Oy taro try this one out."
She leaned forward, holding out the chopstick with a piece of food, while the sunlight goes through her beautiful hair making the smile on her face even more bright.
"So is it good?" Tilting her head to the side, acting like a curious child.
"Well your cooking is always good anyway"
I replied, as I chew the food slowly.
A playful grin plays in her face "Really? If I find out that your lying I will be mad"
"Yea,yea, don't worry about it, im not the type of guy to lie anyway"
In the corner of my eye, I noticed something.
(Now that I'm seeing it, there's way more food today.)
"Uh Mio I'm just wondering but why is there so much food today." I asked curiously
She puts her hands behind her back, smiling like a worried child that is trying to hide something "oh about that the food here is actually for you."
i nearly drop my chopsticks
"Yea I'm sorry but I'm not finishing all that. thanks for the meal tho."
"Hey wait!" Her hands slams the desk, leaning over to me. "your just gonna let this all go to waste?"
"Well it's not my fault that you cooked so many."
"Hmph..... Turning away her head to the side "I really worked hard for this."
(I can't believe this girl is using the cutie face to convince me)
I sighed "Ugh here bring it to me I'll finish it all"
Her face instantly lights up, brightening the mood.
"Really? Yess!!"

"As I walk slowly through the quiet halls, a conversation caught my ear."
"Hey, hey, you know my classmate taro, he's always there sitting alone reading his old novel."
"Really? I bet he doesn't even have friends to tell them about what happened there Hahaha."
"Yea, I guess the world is even repaying him by putting his sit next to Mio."
"Heh! Really?! Pfft, hahaha I bet she's using him, his smart right?"
"Yea"
I hold my chest while their words slowly pierce through my heart, it had been like this since middle school.
The only one that felt like my Ally was Mio, always staying near me, it felt like she was a shield blocking all the negative things that tries to attack, so Mio using me?, it was one of the things that she wouldn't even think to do.
I told myself that even if the whole school hates me as long that she doesn't hate me I'll be fine, a thought then struck my mind.
What if she gets hated...
The next day.....
I did my best to avoid her gaze. The bell rang for lunch, I quickly slipped out of my classroom. i ran through the stairs opening the creaking door of the rooftop. A cold breeze hits my face, birds chirping while the sounds of the students below softens. The endless blue sky can be seen, i sat alone, eat my lunch while the sounds of students mixes with the faint sound of the city. I came back to my classroom. Mio was talking to her friends did she even noticed that I was gone?
The day dragged on till the bell rang, I breath heavily tired from dodging her all day.
....
I was accepting my fate, going back to my life with no meaning, but..... if it's for her sake I'm ready to face it.
I packed my items, I neatly place my desk to its original position, I then swayed the door open and left my classroom, i walk out of the school thinking that I was safe, a warm hand wraps around my arm.
"Um Mio??" My voice cracked "What are you doing, and where are we going??"
Her grip was firm and strong seemingly not wanting to let go.
Her steps were quick that the hallways feels like they were blurring.
"Stop asking question pls, were going to get there soon ok?"
My heart pounded "if someone sees us"
I yanked my hands out from her grip
"N-no I can't! I can't go with you...."
She stopped. Her eyes softens while the smile on her disappear "Why?....."
Before I could even answer, she grabs my hand this time with a stronger grip. The sound of the school slowly disappear till we reach the garden, a row of flowers gently goes with the wind, their fragrance covers us While the sun's ray hits the both of us. with a serious tone she ordered me to sit at the bench.
I looked away at her direction
"Why did you bring me here?"
I obviously want to talk so what's with the sudden change
"Oh about that huh..."
"You really think i wouldn't notice huh?" Her voice softens. "I mean I've been watching you since middle school, and not even once you try to eat at a different location so why now? She sounded angry but she was actually just worried about me.
"Well youre pretty popular" I muttered "if they find out about us you might get hated." Her smile widens slowly "You really are kind huh?"
"No I'm not.."
"Taro look at these flowers and tell me what you see."
"Nothing special."
"thats the point, she says with a calm voice your like the flower while it might not be special, but ones it blooms it looks beautiful just like you, people might talk bad about you but once they find out the true you I'm pretty sure they will understand."
She turns her direction to the flower
"Plus i don't care about being hated it's not like I'm living for all of humanity."
Her sincerity pierce me more than any insult I could ever get.
I will definitely make sure to protect her smile....
The two of us just stared at the flower for few minutes before leaving.
Some students at a safe distance.....
"Oy that's Mio right? Why is she spending time with that guy"
"They might actually be a couple."
"He would definitely flip if he hears this, I mean getting rejected and just hearing she's with some loner pfft, ahahhaha."
"Yea let's go now before they see us"
A rumor then emerges, giving taro a new challenge to face..
