Rhett hadn't expected the movie he'd randomly picked to star Elise.
Without a word, he reached for the remote to change it.
Kelsey's hand shot out, stopping him. "Why change it?"
Rhett looked down, his gaze locking with hers. "Don't you want to change it?"
Kelsey shook her head slowly. "I want to observe and learn. Study the leading lady's acting technique."
Her tone was sincere. Not a trace of sarcasm.
Rhett heard the layers beneath her words.
He lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. "And after you learn to act? What then? Planning to break into the entertainment industry? Or just use your new 'skills' to deal with me?"
Hearing that, Kelsey actually paused to consider it.
After a moment, a small smile touched her lips. "Seems like both options could work."
Did he really expect her not to act? To face him with nothing but raw, honest emotion?
Rhett caught her meaning but didn't get angry. Instead, a low chuckle escaped him. "You've got some nerve."
