Kaine made it eleven days before the collapse.
Not kill-related collapse. Not boundary failure during combat. Not fragmentation from stress.
Person-self collapse.
She woke on day eleven and couldn't activate person-self fully. Could switch to person-aspect but person-aspect felt distant. Muted. Barely present. Like trying to access part of herself that had atrophied nearly to non-existence.
"Something's wrong," Kaine said to her mother. The voice was flat. Emotionless. Weapon-voice even though she was trying to be person-voice. "I can't feel properly. Can't access emotions fully. Can't be person completely. Something broke. Something's missing. Something's wrong."
Her mother assessed immediately. Felt the change. Felt person-self diminished beyond sustainable levels. Felt weapon-self dominating so completely that person-self was barely accessible.
